This is the famous Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, our award-winning rendition of the Imperial Stout style once made exclusively for Catherine the Great. We use three mashes to brew each batch of this beer, achieving a luscious deep dark chocolate flavor through a blend of specialty roasted malts. We brew it every year for the winter season. It is delicious when newly bottled, but also ages beautifully for years.

Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout '11 Aged ~1yr (30 Sep 12) A- Not much to look at. No head or lacing at all. Looks a lot like black coffee. S- chocolate, dark fruit and alcohol sweetness. T- bitter chocolate on the cold side, tons of dark fruit after it warms up. A lot of flavors hitting the palate, helped my the small bubbles, most are a sweet dark fruit flavor. Not much alcohol taste. M- Surprisingly thin mouthfeel with moderate amount of carbonation. O- tastes nothing like I remember. The dark chocolate flavors have faded and given way to a Complex dark fruit flavor. Given the thin mouth feel and the more fruity flavors that have developed, this could easily be mistaken for an Old Ale. Pretty good. -

Bottle, finally. Pours an easy 5, thick pitch black with ever-lasting thick creamy mocca head. Aroma is rich and complex, as the beer. Delicious roast, fresh press and ground coffee, rich chocolate, dark bitter too, quite roasty as it warms. Slight fruity coffee and soy. Burnt sugar and caramel, burnt figs, dried fruits and cocoa. Taste is more sweet and fruity. Still dominated by dark malts. Dried fruits, burnt sugar, roasty coffee, rich chocolate and some cocoa and chocolate milk. Fudge and fresh press coffee. Very balanced and indulgent. Light for style and very smooth with low carbonation. Some bitter coffee beans in finish along long dry cocoa powder feel. Mocha like!

Poured from the bottle of the four pack, a great value at $8.99. Pours used motor oil black with a finger or two tan collar. I will list the flavors of this beer as I tasted them per drink: sweet, malt, chocolate, spice, dry. I don’t drink a lot of stout so I’m not educated on the nuances but I like Brooklyn’s other offerings, and it is 10%, this was well worth the flyer I took on it, very happy with the purchase.

Bottle on board Fridtjofen in Haugesund with TO, SK and SGP. Very dark brown. Pale beige, diminishing head. Wonderful aroma of dark chocolate, coffee and pine needle. Similar taste, with pine bitterness in aftertaste. Well balanced with good drinkability. Round and oily mouthfeel.

Pours black but not as thick and dark as some. Aroma is licorice and roasted malt. Flavor is smooth and balanced. Roasty with a smooth chocolate finish. Best beer by Brooklyn by far. One of the easy drinking 10% beers available. Overall with price, this is a great beer !

The foam is creamy and light brown. The aroma is dominated by hard roasted malt, chocolate and coffee and a little fruit. The taste is something special. A warm feeling of the alcohol is to spread the taste of malt and dark bitter chocolate in your mouth. Later appears the taste of rich fruit (raisin / plum) which finally ends with a good rounded flavor of the coffee beans. It is very rich and robust.

Mörk skumkrona. Tyisk is arom. Stor skillnad mot mer humlade kompisar. Mer kaffe än choklad dock finns bitterheten där.

Bottle, 355mL. @Le_Gambrinus, Tours. Last beer of the evening. A black beer with a beige head ; good retention. Toasty aroma, chocolate, coffee, rasin, prune. Medium sweet, medium dry bitter ; quite refreshing ; warming background. Great body, medium creamy texture, average carbonation, sweet chocolate coffee finish. Overall, delicious chocolate stout ; creamy texture and great finish. After, small walk on the shores of La Loire...

Botella. Negra opaca. Espuma marrón oscura duradera. Muy bonita de aspecto. Aroma a chocolate, café, frutos rojos.
