COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the famous Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, our award-winning rendition of the Imperial Stout style once made exclusively for Catherine the Great. We use three mashes to brew each batch of this beer, achieving a luscious deep dark chocolate flavor through a blend of specialty roasted malts. We brew it every year for the winter season. It is delicious when newly bottled, but also ages beautifully for years.

FROM NOTES: November 29, ’13 on draft into a snifter at the Black Friday event @ Kraftrwork, Philly. A: Sweet roasted malts and dark bitter chocolate with some dark fruit/fig notes. A: Dark brown almost black with a nice thick tan head on it, that leaves a nice lacing. T: Dark bitter chocolate with slightly under ripe plum through the middle. Finishes with sweeter dark fruit notes with slight bitterness and smooth alcohol warmth. P: Medium bodied with faint carbonation, velvety smooth.... O: It’s good, but considering other high quality choices available, it’s average by comparison.

Mycket mörk chokladbrun färg. Doftar sött av rostad malt & choklad. Riktigt bra smak där chokladen är framträdande. Alkoholsmaken är lite för stark personligen. Flaska från Systembolaget. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle pour@5e Mondial de la Bière, Mulhouse - FR. Convincingly austere black pour with deep beige crema cap. Dulcet aroma of caramel, chocolate, no abv, a near sweet stout. Full layers of 70% dark chocolate coat the palate, balanced out by a moderate hop bitterness, red wine tannins, moderate liquorice and an astringent nut roastiness. Late ash/charred malt in the leathery, quasi-tangy finish to seal the deal of an imposing, but gorgeously drinkable ImpStout. One to revisit.

Jet black color with a slightly beige short lasting head. Aroma is rich in dark chocolate and coffee, but also has dark fruits, toffee and caramel. Taste has less chocolate than the aroma, but is also predominant, together with coffee, roasted malts and sweet caramel. Aftertaste is alcoholic (not boozy) and bitter.

Excellente stout ultra chocolatée. Léger gout de café également. Plutot facile à boire.

Served on-tap at Al’s of Hampden into a nonic pint.

A - Pours out pitch black with a small one finger brown head that leaves light lacing down the entire glass.

S - Dark, roasty aroma with a slightly sweet smell from the malts. Coffee and chocolate, obviously, dominate this one. A slight heat from the huge amount of alcohol comes thru once it warms a bit.

T - Dark chocolate dominates this one. Rich, roasty, malts with hints of caramel, toffee, and other sweet flavors from the malt. Chocolate, espresso, and dark fruits help mellow out the roasty flavor. One of the best readily available chocolate stouts on the market today.

M - Fairly creamy with medium-heavy body and flavor. Slightly dry finish with a roasty flavor. The huge amount of alcohol singes the pallet leaving it feeling quite hot.

D - Fairly high given the huge amounts of alcohol in this one. It is a sipper for sure but I could still go thru a couple of these with no problem.

Black color with, dark tan head. Aroma caramel, roasted malts, dried fruits. Taste like coffee, chocolate and herbs. I got advice to cold this beer and then drink it very slowly until it gets warmer. When colder chocolate notes are stronger, while getting warm taste more like coffee with alcohol warm and bitterness on finish.
