Boozy coffee, aroma, hints of dark chocolate, smoke, toasty malt. Black/brown dark head. Coffee and dark chocolate flavor, minimal red fruit, mostly toasty and boozy. Warm oily palate. No real aftertaste, doesn’t seem to cling at all. WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Very good heavy stout taste, loads of flavor and a great smell. The high ABV is easily detected, which could be seen as a pro or a con. The bottle looks great too, which I love - great beers should come with a classy look inside and out. Plus at only $11/6 pk it feels like i am stealing. nqualls (1435), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

Aroma of bitter chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. Flavor was a little sweet, with a good chocolate aftertaste, and a strong coffee intial note. Full body with soft carbonation and a creamy/sticky mouthfeel. Great beer. Glad I bought a sixer. popdoggy (100), USA

Pours opaque black with a tan head that’s gone before the rest of the beer. Aroma of coffee and roasted barley, a little chocolatey. The taste starts slightly sweet with molasses and chocolate, then you get a bit more bitter, dry, charred and very long finish with a bit of alcohol warmth (dark chocolate all the way through). The palate is amazing, the taste fills your whole mouth instantly. Great stout! BeMerry (37), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Apr 3, 2008 Bottle. Pours pure black with 2-inch creamy cocoa head. Aroma of molasses, brown sugar and chocolate. Medium-sweet chocolate very prominent in taste with tiny touches of bitterness and sourness at the end that stop the sweetness well short of cloying. Aftertaste stays with the chocolate. Alcohol generates some heat. Mouthfeel is full and the liquid coats all surfaces like a thick chocolaty drink A great dessert all by itself. Creamy and frothy on pour - dark like the night. You can almost lap it up when it is on your town. Has a roasty flavor and after taste with hints of a dark Chocolate. Beware the alcohol content it will grab you eventually because all you will want to do is keep drinking it. esjaygee (1600), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
