Rogueone (291), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA May 5, 2008 This is a pretty solid beer that really does age well. 12 oz. bottle: Pours a oil dark black, very thin dark tan ring around the edges. Aroma and flavor of roasted chocolate malt, smooth vanilla undertones and a powerful alcoholic bite. Nom nom nom.
Gr0ve (1083), Oslo, Norway Jul 18, 2008 355 ml bottle. Pitch black with a dark beige small head. Not really much aroma. Some minty notes with dark chocolate syrup. Rich malty flavour with an enormous chocolate richness. Lots of dark chocolate. Some oxidized notes, almost with a sherry-like flavour. Very rich and really nice. Complex flavours. Dry bitter finish, much like in bitter chocolate. timsilvia32 (91), born in Michigan, North Carolina, USA Jul 17, 2008 Black/brown pour, brown head. Real good with the chocolate and grape type fruit. Roasted coffee with a clean bite at the finish. Alcohol let’s you know it’s their, but not overpowering. By far, Brooklyn’s best offering. plovmand (380), Helsinge, Denmark Jul 14, 2008 Bottle. Pours pitch black with a good looking longlasting brown head. Sweet roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, and dark fruits in aroma. Flavour has a good roastiness and loads of dark bitter chocolate. Great smooth mouthfeel. kiefdog (310), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 8, 2008 12oz bottle from KIngdom Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a dark black color with a thick and frothy tan/brown head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is heavy dark chocolate, coffee, toffee, and sweet malt. Medium to full-bodied with a smooth and silky syrupy finish. Flavor has notes of dark chocolate, sweet malt, slight bitterness, toffee. Very nice Imperial Stout. badbeer (391), Iowa, USA Jul 5, 2008 Poured a midnight black color with a small tan head, leaving trace amounts of lacing. Smell is roasty, chocolate-y, and a bit fruity. Taste is pretty nice, some chocolate and roastiness, but seemed to have more earthiness from the hops than I liked. I think this would be eliminated with aging, and would increase my score. Medium to full bodied, medium carbonation. Was fun to drink, and would like to get more, but would like to age it to see how it develops.
