COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the famous Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, our award-winning rendition of the Imperial Stout style once made exclusively for Catherine the Great. We use three mashes to brew each batch of this beer, achieving a luscious deep dark chocolate flavor through a blend of specialty roasted malts. We brew it every year for the winter season. It is delicious when newly bottled, but also ages beautifully for years.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2009 It was okay after the aroma the taste and palate where a let down. It just didn’t have the richness you would expect from a chocolate stout. atfter the fist one they get a bit sickly

355ml bottle. Pours black with a small tan head, nice lacing. Aroma: rich dark chocolate and dark fruits, coffee, alcohol. Taste: dark chocolate, dark/dried fruits, coffee, alcohol, roast malt. Full bodied, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Very rich, almost liqueur like in texture and mouthfeel, warming brandy feel to it, so smooth, velvety. A delicious brew, one that I can’t think of any area it could be improved upon.

pours into an amazingly dark body with a caramel head. aroma is a wonderfully rich dark chocolate the full aroma is almost cake-like giving it some extra body. the flavor of this beer is exquisite adding a taste of treacle to the chocolate flavor you’d expect.

Beautifully smooth chocolate gateaux (hints of dried fruit). A truly supreme example of the style. Rated by BrewTom

From 335ml bottle. Dark with an initial latte coloured head which soon fades to lacing. Aroma of coffee and winter fruits, but not especially strong. Rich mocha and dried fruits taste. Good body and very smooth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a black colour, with a small brown head that fades too soon, leaving a thin layer and aring, and a creamy lace. Aroma of prunes, chocolate, notes of coffee. Creamy, thick and brandy alike palate, good carbonation. taste of prunes, chocoalte, coffee.

Bottle@Morton’s Market - Black color and strong Mocha Chocolate aroma. Taste is mocha, roast, with some bitter dark chocolate, and a hint of dark fruits. Thick and smooth as silk. Palate was rich chocolate, roast, and just pure yumminess! Finish of last ounce was like liquid chocolate mousse. One of the best brews i’ve ever had!

Black color with a nice brown head. Aromas of licorice, chocolate, coffee liquor, and ethanol. Rich mouth-feel. Quite hoppy and bitter. Has a clearly noticeable alcohol flavor, like somebody dropped a shot of vodka in a glass of chocolate milk. I didn’t like it much, but the aroma and appearance got it into an ok score for me.

Dark. Coffee and chocolate aromas. Dark chocolate with a bitter finish, balanced taste. The price tag makes it a really solid Imperial Stout.
