When I first opened this beer, I decided it was too thin and too weak flavored to be served as an intro into chocolate beer to the public at my bar. I stuffed it under a shelf in my cooler and left it for reduction in cooking...Cocoa chili maybe. Almost a year later, I was cleaning out the cooler and found it. As i was thirsty, I cracked one open. WOW! what a different beer this was from a year prior. The chocolate smell filled the cooler, and the foam bubbling from the bottle was a rich milk chocolate brown. Quickly grabbing a glass, I poured the rest and began to admire this beer for all it was worth. The lacing was thick and stuck to the glass like a curtain. The flavor was rich chocolate with dark fruits embedded deep within it, the finish was roasted coffee and toffee combined. Wonderful beer, I’m glad I cellared this one, I’m keeping a few from this case reserved, so I can continue aging it. This beer goes high on my list.

It smells of chocolate and roasted malt. It pours jet black with a light beige head. Full bodied rich flavour with pronounced chocolate and coffee notes. Finish is dry. Very good.

Pours a deep dark slightly viscous black with a small brown head. Aroma is a strong chocolate with some roasted dark malts and espresso. Taste is chocolatey, with some roasted dark malt, espresso, and some hops and dark cacao bitterness. A rich full bodied and slightly viscous mouth feel with moderate carbonation on the palate. Finished with a bitter sweet choclatey and roasted dark malts, some espresso, ending is a long sweet lingering bitter chocolate flavor. Overall a delicious, flavorful, satisfying and nicely balance brew. A very enjoyable drink.

33 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with a small mocha head that slowly fades leaving a little lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and a hint of booze. Taste is similar to the aroma. Abv is quite well hidden.

12 ounce bottle. Poured pitch black. Huge roasted malt presence, chocolate-dark bitter chocolate, dry finish. A nice beer, could not drink more then one in a single sitting.

Bottle. Thick black pour with a creamy tan head that lasts a while. Aroma is very roasty with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, almonds, raisins, cherries and caramel. Flavour mirrors the aroma. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy with soft carbonation and a lingering roasty, bitter chocolatey finish. This is a superb stout; as thick as they come, it has the texture of a liquid dessert. Simply delicious.

Aroma is roasted malts, a light chocolate sweetness and some vinous notes. The flavor is heavy on the chocolate and roasted malts, along with vinous notes that lead to a tart/fruity malty finish.

Bottle. Black color, tan head. Rich appealing chocolate aroma. Full flavor with dark chocolate, cocoa and a hint of coffee. Excellent balance. Full body, medium carbonation. Superb.
