COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the famous Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, our award-winning rendition of the Imperial Stout style once made exclusively for Catherine the Great. We use three mashes to brew each batch of this beer, achieving a luscious deep dark chocolate flavor through a blend of specialty roasted malts. We brew it every year for the winter season. It is delicious when newly bottled, but also ages beautifully for years.

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2009 Draft taster at Moonshine, Chicago. Hey! It’s on tap somewhere! Even in a teeny glass, this has a heady alcohol smell. All black, no head. Taste is nothing more than a snootful of Kahlua. Well, it’s more than that. There are plenty of stout malt roasties, and a finish like a molasses cookie. Glad I had a chance at a fresh one for when I finally crack that 2002 bottle in the cellar.

Birra davvero importante. Naso non molto pronunciato ma in bocca recupera alla grande. Vellutata e morbida, malto tostati e tanto cioccolato fondente. Al palato risulta densa e calda, davvero intensa. Una vera birra da dessert che merita il punteggio massimo.

Beautiful, thick and black. Sweet chewy texture, tan lacing, heavy (in a good way) taste. Well worth the high rating.

On tap at Ridgewood (Raleigh) As another reviewer stated - black chocolate goodness. Pours almost black with little head. Thin taste that I did enjoy. Strong mocha aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black chocolate syrupy goodness. Great beer full of amazing roast malt and chocolate aroma. Nothing to complain about. Enjoyed thoroughly. Will be buying another bottle to cellar.

Milk chocolate smell, strong coffee aroma, dark chocolate look, coffee bean, chocolate bitter after taste, you can taste the alcohol the ABV might be too strong for some. Very good stout!

Draft at Crunchys. Nice dark color with brown-tan head. Nice chocolate aroma. The beer doesn’t do a great job of hiding the alcohol though.

Pours black with brown head. Head wasn’t what I expected but maybe down to pour. Chocolate caramel smooth flavour. Doesn’t cover the alcohol bitterness but warms on a cold night. Good.
