4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tasting this next to the Southern Tier Oat Stout. The aroma is a little better and the flavor tastes more of chocolate. Itís a little more bitter but I suppose thatís to be expected from the chocolate aroma. The Southern Tier Oat Stout has a wonderful vanilla aroma and taste but the slight bitterness of the Brooklyn leads me to think that this one will be more drinkable - if such a thing can be said of a 10.6% abv beer. Iím very curious how it changes with age. Iím still exploring the stout category but it looks like this will be a staple while Iím on the east coast.

Pours extremely dark almost black. Very nice chocolate and coffee aroma. Really thick and dense with a strong malty cocoa molasses flavor. I enjoyed this immensely.

Bottle at The Bier Garden. Tan head over black body. Deep chocolate flavor. Roasted malts are nice. Of the same style, I prefer Founders BS. Still a solid outing here.
