3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
2012 1 pint 9.4 ounce corked bottle pours a deep black with a tan head that dissipates rather quickly with large bubbles. Nose is dominated by the aroma of bourbon. High level of carbonation. Full bodied. Tastes of chocolate and roasty caramel but dominated by Bourbon flavor. A bit too boozy

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2013 bottle. Pours boozy black with caramel bordering. No head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, some bourbon/alcohol. Taste is, again, boozy and rich. The chocolate is less pronounced than I had heard, but the caramel/toffee tones are excellent. The bourbon features well here and packs a punch. Oily, slick and smooth.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark with a medium beige head, there is a sweetness to this stout that you donít expect from a Brooklyn beer. Hints of chocolate and vanilla in both the nose and taste, this is a truly special beer, and one to grab as soon as you see it.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle - multiple vintages - dark pour with lively mocha head. Nose is fairly roasty with some chocolate and booze. Taste is a little different from most others in this style which is likely the doing of the different type of yeast. Fairly light on the palate but likely more from the carbonation. Very solid.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Powerful nose! Chocolate, coffee, the whiskey too, appearance is beautiful, pitch black with a large tanned head. Palate is full on and creamy, with flavours of chocolate, a lot of vanilla, coffee, a lot of oak and whiskey. All marry very well. Fantastic.

Poured into a tulip, enjoyed next to the campfire. Pours insane black with a nice tan head, very small carbonation bubbles. Aroma is of bourbon upfront with dark toasty notes. Little bit of fruitiness as well. Taste is well balanced, dark toasted malts bourbon is not overbearing. Dark fruits like raisins. Overall a killer beer. Malty chocolately , bourboney.

Taste is woody dry and creamy. middle way there is oak and some rich bitter chocolate. Finishes just a bit warming, bitter and creamy. body is silky and slightly lively. A very impressive beer.
