Cask Festival at Chelsea Pier. The pour was a hazy orange color. The Aroma was nice, peaches, grapefruit, other citrus, excellent. The flavor was citrus, grapefruit, caramel, toffee, excellenrt balance between sweet and bitter. The finish was a rsiny hop flavor not noticeable previously. Medium mouthfeel, thin for the style. Very Good overall.

Location: Cask at Rattle ’N’ Hum, 9/13/09
Part of the Gotham Cask Festival
Aroma: Sweet grapefruit & juicy citrus hops, some pine, and yeast
Appearance: Nice golden color, white head
Flavor: Yeasty malts up-front, big hoppy flavor in the middle and end palates
Palate: Smooth, drinks nicely, and a nice mouthfeel
Overall Impression:
I thought this beer was really nice. Got a really juicy citrus/grapefruit nose straight from the cask, and I really just liked the way it drank and tasted quite a bit. Big, but not huge, hop flavor for a IIPA. A nicely crafted beer.

Drank on tap at the Brooklyn Brewery with Tim Dziubek.
Blast is a hazy yellow ale with a developed off-white head. The aroma is full of bitter hops and the flavor has notes of citrus. This beer was more bitter than I was looking for and would have been more enjoyable with food.

Brooklyn Blast is a slightly hazy lighter golden ale with a bubbly off-white head. The retention and lacing are good. It has a huge tangerine aroma, like Simcoe hops or something. It’s medium bodied that’s lively and smooth, with a pretty clean, dry finish. It’s well bittered and balanced well with the slightly sweet malt. Very citrusy.

FCBF 09. The alcohol was mighty well disguised in this one. It seemed very light. Especially considering I just tried a standard IPA before this one. Well balanced. Will have to retry this one later.

Hazed yellow, firm and tight off-white suds. Nose of fresh hops, grapefruit, crystalized hop buds, maybe even a touch of unripe mango. Firm hoppy flavor profile, definitely damn straight grapefruit and dry...maybe even some other fruits underneath...overall though, nicely dry and super hoppy. I dig.
