We brew our beer in New York, about halfway between the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest and the hop fields of Kent, England. So we use earthy English hops to build the foundation and bright citrusy American hops to bring the noise in the rambunctious IPA we call BLAST! British Maris Otter and German Pilsner malts lends solidity, balance and bready flavors to brace up a beer that’s beautifully hoppy, strangely quaffable and oddly compelling. Minerally hop bitterness is followed by a shock wave of flavor and aroma. You won’t even know what hit you.

Malts: Scottish Floor-malted Maris Otter, German Pilsner Malt

Hops: Willamette, Magnum, Cascade, Fuggle, Aurora, Zythos, Bravo, Simcoe, Sorachi Ace, Amarillo, Experiment 6300

on tap at the brewery june 2015. Fantastic aroma of tropical fruits, grass, pine. Somewhat sticky and full mouthfeel, mellow finish with nice balance of fruit hints and bitterness. Really solid.

From a 355ml bottle on 15/10/2015. Pours a medium golden with a small white head. Has a quite strong, dense fruity, syrupy aroma. Flavour wise, it’s not at all typical of a DIPA - there’s heaps of sweet and sour citrus fruit, with the flavour quite dense and a touch boozy. There’s biscuit and caramel malt, a touch of spice, and a decent dash of hops, but it’s quite light on bitterness wise for the style. The palate is a touch syrupy and the carbonation soft. Interesting enough, but not a home run for mine.

0,33l Flasche. Kräftige Hopfen Aromen. Kräuter, citrus. Antrunk wuchtig bitter. Dann kommt der Alkohol. Sehr langer bitterer Grapefruit Abgang.

Very strong floral notes, almost burns the nostrils. Appearance is a gorgeous sun fire golden brown yellow red. Taste is very alcoholy, floral notes, some sting and burn and a nice crisp aftertaste. And with a high ABV, it’ll get you drunk!

Pours golden yellow with creamy white head. Strong hoppy aroma, a blend of citric, tropical fruits and herbal. Taste is sweet and bitter, some alcohol is noticeable. Medium body, light carbonation.

From bottle was surprised to learn it was as an IIPA as it lacks the punch. Nice for an IPA though would have more than one

Bottle - medium dark gold with an average head. Has a peachy aroma. Like a lot of the other reviews this DIPA is a little out of the norm. Not that hoppy and rather fruity.

Bottle. Golden with small head. Medium body, slightly boozy. Not as Hoppy as I expected, but nice citrus flavor. Moderate bitterness.

Not quite an Imperial IPA taste or palate. Finish is flat. Hopping could be increased as the flavor isnt too strong. Alcohol content really the driver behind imperial IPA.
