We brew our beer in New York, about halfway between the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest and the hop fields of Kent, England. So we use earthy English hops to build the foundation and bright citrusy American hops to bring the noise in the rambunctious IPA we call BLAST! British Maris Otter and German Pilsner malts lends solidity, balance and bready flavors to brace up a beer that’s beautifully hoppy, strangely quaffable and oddly compelling. Minerally hop bitterness is followed by a shock wave of flavor and aroma. You won’t even know what hit you.

Malts: Scottish Floor-malted Maris Otter, German Pilsner Malt

Hops: Willamette, Magnum, Cascade, Fuggle, Aurora, Zythos, Bravo, Simcoe, Sorachi Ace, Amarillo, Experiment 6300

Brought back from Buffalo for my by my lovely wife. A cloudy ice-tea amber-yellow with some lumpy white head. Nice malty nose with tangerine citrus, and caramel. Nice creamy, malty mouthful with a lot of citrus, some mild bittering hops, a touch of hop resin. Great beer, but sadly just one bottle to be had. Le sigh. Damn you LCBO.

Caramelly, fruity aroma. Really soft sweet bread with earthy hop balance. Least bitter DIPA I've had. Nice balance. Good stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a soft hazy bronzed orange color with a soft level off white foamy head that dissipated within less than about twenty seconds. The smell started off with some fresh melon, light sweet lemon, and glosses over light notes of sweet fresh cut grass. The taste was mainly sweet having a light bitterness coming about to balance. Sweet melon aftertaste leads to a semi-wet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation seemed good for the style and it has a light creaminess running over my tongue. Overall, decent DIPA, I could see myself coming back to.

Cloudy Amber with a small head. The aroma is oatmeal bread and sweet malt. The flavor is sweet with the bitterness coming towards the end. Lots of hops in the swallow. Nice and dry. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: Orangey, hazy to cloudy, small off-White loose head; sweet orangey and caramelly nose, mild herbal hops underneath; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, quite full bodied; sweet-bitter exotic fruits in the drier, lingering hoppy-caramelly finish. Good, but too much on the sweet side...

From the four pack of bottles, pours a hazy orange middle, yellow outside with a small white collar. The description is correct in that the English hops are dirty and gritty and the west coast hops have some fruit to them. Good solid taste overall and the 8.4% makes it all the more enjoyable. I like when artists throw stuff together and it works, whether that be chefs, painters, or beer makers.

Very good stuff Brooklyn!
