COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brew our beer in New York, about halfway between the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest and the hop fields of Kent, England. So we use earthy English hops to build the foundation and bright citrusy American hops to bring the noise in the rambunctious IPA we call BLAST! British Maris Otter and German Pilsner malts lends solidity, balance and bready flavors to brace up a beer that’s beautifully hoppy, strangely quaffable and oddly compelling. Minerally hop bitterness is followed by a shock wave of flavor and aroma. You won’t even know what hit you.

Malts: Scottish Floor-malted Maris Otter, German Pilsner Malt

Hops: Willamette, Magnum, Cascade, Fuggle, Aurora, Zythos, Bravo, Simcoe, Sorachi Ace, Amarillo, Experiment 6300

Growler poured a golden in color with a ring of off white head on the glass. Aroma has sweet citrus, resins, grapefruit, caramel malt, and some light heat. Mouth feel is light and the carbonation on the lower side. Flavor brings in some bitterness, citrus, resins, sweet malt, and some heat on the finish.

Cloudy yellow, nice big white head. Big citrus/grapefruit aroma, with nice caramel note thrown in. Flavor is boozy citrus, honey and caramel. Pretty good, seems a bit alcoholly.

Tap at PP GTown. Unfiltered orange-gold body. Creamy white head. Resinous, big, full IIPA. Orange melon citrus, nice hop dimension. A solid offering, fruity hop doiminated. Toasty malt backbone. Respectable yet forgettable among the seas of IIPA.

1 oz sample at Beer Revolution, courtesy of plunkie. Consensus winner at our table (session 1), namely due to the orange/tangerine/meyer lemon sweetness. Clear golden pour with a bubbly white foam, spotty lacing. Nose is tangerine, pineapple, essentially the tropics in a blender. Mouthfeel crisp, mild alcohol warmth, low-medium carbonation. Taste is sweet orangey/meyer lemony notes with the spicy tang and hoppy bite. Unreal that this is 9%, not devoid of Imperial character however. Shwanky.

On tap at the Rev. Pours a cloudy orangey, amber with a small white ring around the glass. Aroma is sweet tropical fruit, citrus, and light floral notes. Flavour is grapefruit, tropical fruit, residual sweetness, a medium bitterness and a little bit of alcohol. Quite session able for a dipa.

orange color. Sort of a tangerine pine nose. Taste is like a bitter, tangerine grapefruit candy. Very enjoyable.

5 oz. flight draft at Malted Barley in Westerly RI. Golden orange color, unfiltered, thin white head. Big hop smell as one would expect. Floral hops, piney citrus. Taste was very balanced and smooth. Balanced bitterness with finishing hops and a slightly spicy malt. Alcohol is really well masked here. A solid DIPA from Brooklyn, as I would expect from them.

On tap. Pours orange with long lasting, fluffy white head. Aroma is of citrusy hops, caramel malt and ripe fruit. Body is full and tangy. Taste is similar to aroma with noticeable alcohol. Finish is long and dry. This brew will not be among my favorable DIPA’s.
