3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Served in a Brooklyn Brewery snifter at the Beer Bistro, Chicago, IL
Ar: Strong floral and citrus aromas dominate with a very. very slight note of pine here and there.
Ap: Thick three finger bright white head that takes several minutes to fully dissipate leaving beautiful lacing. Deep golden color with slight amber hues
T: Opens with a flood of citrus hops, orange and lemon, grapefuit, transitions into sweetness, malt, orange, and banana notes. Finishes with continued sweet citrus, light orange juice, a very subtle touch of pine, and a bit of alcohol.
P: Well-carbonated, very noticable malt backbone, fairly hefty body for a DIPA.
O: One of the fruitiest, sweetest DIPA’s I’ve had. In fact it was a bit too fruity and sweet for me. The smell and opening of the beer was fantastic, however I kept waiting for some hop bitterness to balance out the sweet which never came. A solid DIPA that fans of sweeter, fruiter beers will love.
