COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brew our beer in New York, about halfway between the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest and the hop fields of Kent, England. So we use earthy English hops to build the foundation and bright citrusy American hops to bring the noise in the rambunctious IPA we call BLAST! British Maris Otter and German Pilsner malts lends solidity, balance and bready flavors to brace up a beer that’s beautifully hoppy, strangely quaffable and oddly compelling. Minerally hop bitterness is followed by a shock wave of flavor and aroma. You won’t even know what hit you.

Malts: Scottish Floor-malted Maris Otter, German Pilsner Malt

Hops: Willamette, Magnum, Cascade, Fuggle, Aurora, Zythos, Bravo, Simcoe, Sorachi Ace, Amarillo, Experiment 6300

Sampled at SAVOR - darn, missed out on the Ghost Pepper dish that went along with it - anyway, back to the review... This beer poured an dark amber color with a medium sized slightly off-white head. Aroma was a bit dank, resin notes, sweet malty body, plenty of citrus. Hops present in this brew. Enjoyable.

Tap at Pig and Fiddle. Amber orange pour with a clingy frothy white head. Interesting DIPA - hops are there but quite muted in terms of bitterness. Mainly citrus hops. Insanely drinkable.

Draft at Stanley’s nordeast Mnpls. Hemp/ fresh hop aroma. Lovely. Slightly hazy orange. Nice lace. Good hoppy flavor. Perhaps not high on my double ipa list but still a very good beer.

Tap at Flying Saucer Sugar Land. Orange-amber with a big off-white head and decent lacing. Aroma of resin, wet dog, caramel, and citrus. Taste is pretty mildly bitter and quite malty. It’s pretty well balanced, but the hops are a little muddied. Medium bodied. Not bad at all.

On tap @ TCT. Amber orange color with a small amount of head. Smell is full of resiny, floral, and citrus hops - some caramel malt sneaks in. Flavor is quite balanced but still has a nice hop punch.
