COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brew our beer in New York, about halfway between the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest and the hop fields of Kent, England. So we use earthy English hops to build the foundation and bright citrusy American hops to bring the noise in the rambunctious IPA we call BLAST! British Maris Otter and German Pilsner malts lends solidity, balance and bready flavors to brace up a beer that’s beautifully hoppy, strangely quaffable and oddly compelling. Minerally hop bitterness is followed by a shock wave of flavor and aroma. You won’t even know what hit you.

Draft at Spinoza’s in Beavercreek, OH. A decent double IPA. Not in the upper realm, however. The pour is clear light orange with aromas of fruit. The flavors that exist in this beer are fruit and malt with some hops in the flavor but not much in the end. In fact, the lack of finish in this beer causes it to fall in the rankings. Although there is a sizeable malt body, the finish is non existent.

Tap at brewery. Pours a mostly translucent golden amber with a med creamy off white head. Aroma orange, citrusy hops, caramel, toffee and resiny. Flavor of resiny hops, pine and grapefruit and caramel.

This poured a yellow color with a white head. The aroma contains a ton of citrus and pine also. The flavor is bitter with oranges and lemons showing through. This one was rather malty in the typical east coast style. Overall I really enjoyed this beer!

On tap @ CBF 2010. The aroma has grass and aprikots, some malts. Clear, golden coloured beer with a thin, white lace. The taste is sweet, bitter, hoppy. Fresh overall. Slightly a sticky finish for an IPA my notes say. Now I see this is an IIPA. :-) Nice beer.

On tap at Taco Mac Metropolis in Atlanta. Pours a cloudy, pale golden-orange colored body with a finger-width, creamy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is sweeter citrus with pineapples and tangerines. Lots of fresh florals with some pine and a light herbal spice. Sweeter caramels with a light candy. Flavor is similar. Sweet caramels with some candy and bread balance nicely with a good amount of citrus pines and florals. Lots of sweet oranges, pineapples, and tangerines with a few tropical fruits too. Finishes with a light resin and residual sweetness as this dries with a moderate, piney and floral bitterness as well as a hint of earthy spice. Leaves a lengthy aftertaste following a medium, creamy body and light carbonation. Overall, a nice DIPA. Lots of fresh, sweeter hops with a solid balance. Easy drinking and enjoyable.

Sampled as part of the Draught House ’s firkin Fridays in early May 2010. Poured from a firkin on top of the bar. The beer pours a hazy yellow color with a white head. The aroma is heavy on the pine and orange hops. The flavor is a great mix of citrus, resin and pine hops. All of the flavors meld nicely with none of them really standing out and dominating the others. Very soft mouthfeel and low carbonation.

On tap at Copenhagen Beer Festival, poured by Oliver himself. Very aromatic, peaches and cream, yet piney hops in the tail leaving a crisp aftertaste.

Sampled at Copenhagen Beerfestival 2010. Clear golden color with a white head leaving some thin lacings. Crazy amount of very fruity hop aroma with grapefruit, pineapple, mango, passionfruit, lychee and also some cookies and pine. Light, fruity sweetness finishing off with a nice medium bitterness. This one is more focused on hop aroma rather than strong bitterness, which I really like.
