COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brew our beer in New York, about halfway between the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest and the hop fields of Kent, England. So we use earthy English hops to build the foundation and bright citrusy American hops to bring the noise in the rambunctious IPA we call BLAST! British Maris Otter and German Pilsner malts lends solidity, balance and bready flavors to brace up a beer that’s beautifully hoppy, strangely quaffable and oddly compelling. Minerally hop bitterness is followed by a shock wave of flavor and aroma. You won’t even know what hit you.

Malts: Scottish Floor-malted Maris Otter, German Pilsner Malt

Hops: Willamette, Magnum, Cascade, Fuggle, Aurora, Zythos, Bravo, Simcoe, Sorachi Ace, Amarillo, Experiment 6300

Decent DIPA, but the aroma is not as fresh as the best examples. Well balanced flavour.

Pale golden, clear enough and greasy film with soft ringed head. Minty citrus with a garish sweetness. Initial taste of clean soapy citrus, lean bitterness and gummy sweetness. Grass. Little bit clammy. Softly sweet. Fairly solid where it needs to be.

Een bier met een hele lichte kleur. De geur is ook heel lekker. De smaak valt mee, maar is iets te bitter naar mijn zin. Maar in het algemeen geen slecht bier

tfredvik (1323) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 2, 2015
Cloudy, medium orange body with a creamy, off-white head that reduces to thin layer that leaves a good amount of foam on the glass. Sweet, hoppy, malty and strong aroma of overripe tropical fruits and caramel. Strong flavour that follows the aroma like a glove. Moderate to light sweet taste with a moderate bitter finish. Medium body, dry on the palate, moderate carbonation. A nice little treat, but with more carbonation, less sweetness, less bitterness and more dryness than the very best DIPAs.
[33 cl bottle, from Vinmonopolet Aker Brygge, Oslo]
