Amber gold with good, creamy, white head / Bright ose of citrus and cut pine / Medium body, chewy and creamy, with fine, balanced body featuring only modestly biting hops and good, bitter, finish / Mellow flavors of orange, grapefruit, cut pine, bubblegum, and resin / Tastes like more of a regular pale than a double, with only a modest hop profile and bitterness levels. It is a very nice pale, though, with lovely flavor and balance.

On tap for growler fills at Half Time. Pours a lightly hazed golden amber with a thin to medium sized white head. Bright sticky citrus, juicy, with a touch of mango and tropical fruit, pineapple. Big malt, toast and sweet toasted fruit notes. Earthy,, not as much hops as expected given the nose. Long bitter grapefruit finish.

Draft at Haymarket, pours clear golden with foamy white head. Nose has pine, grapefruit, with sweet candy sugar undertones. Flavors are sweet mango and pineapple, candy sugar, some banana and oranges, healthy bitterness. Full mouth feel. Good beer but sorta like those great iipa of 5 years ago (good hop flavor but just too sweet). Little boozy too.

Draft at Haymarket. Pours a mostly clear gold with a sticky white head that persists. Nose is hoppy, some light malts. Pretty non-descript with citrus and pine resin. On taste, it lacks the punch of a hops and bitterness one expects. Comes across as a pleasant American IPA, but just isn’t anything special. Some citrus and resin, some malt. Just kind of blah.

Tap Maple Tree Inn, Blue Island, IL.: Golden orange pour with moderate white haed. Nose is strongly hop-forward...citrus and pine. Flavors are similarly hop oriented...orange, lemon, pine resin...but pretty well balnced by the sweet lighly roasted caramel and toffee malt. Alcohol pretty strong and drying in the finish as well. Enjoyable hop forward IPA.

On tap at Brooklyn Brewery. Pale golden color. Aroma is fantastic, with distinct earthy, citrus, flowery aroma hops dominating. Slight malty sweetness. Nice balance of bitterness and sweetness. Good head and nice lacing in the glass. Bold yet traditional over-the-top American IPA.

Cask @ Blind Tiger. Hazy amber with a small off-white head, faded to a thick film and lasted the duration. Spicy orange herbal hop nose followed by some sweet malts and alcohol heat. Smells a little fresher than the flavor. Flavor has orange hops dominating with some spicy earth and dry hopped notes, light toast and caramel sweetness. Finishes earthy and semi-dry with bitterness peaking at a 4, some alcohol noted. Lots of earth. Low carbonation with a medium body. Not bad, but nothing stands out. And far too earthy.
