We brew our beer in New York, about halfway between the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest and the hop fields of Kent, England. So we use earthy English hops to build the foundation and bright citrusy American hops to bring the noise in the rambunctious IPA we call BLAST! British Maris Otter and German Pilsner malts lends solidity, balance and bready flavors to brace up a beer that’s beautifully hoppy, strangely quaffable and oddly compelling. Minerally hop bitterness is followed by a shock wave of flavor and aroma. You won’t even know what hit you.

Malts: Scottish Floor-malted Maris Otter, German Pilsner Malt

Hops: Willamette, Magnum, Cascade, Fuggle, Aurora, Zythos, Bravo, Simcoe, Sorachi Ace, Amarillo, Experiment 6300

Een bier met een hele lichte kleur. De geur is ook heel lekker. De smaak valt mee, maar is iets te bitter naar mijn zin. Maar in het algemeen geen slecht bier

floral, spruce, citrus aromas try and burn your nostril hair, pale gold body with thin white foamy head, strong spruce then a citrus finish that ends quite dry. not as good as i was hoping for.

tfredvik (1355) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 2, 2015
Cloudy, medium orange body with a creamy, off-white head that reduces to thin layer that leaves a good amount of foam on the glass. Sweet, hoppy, malty and strong aroma of overripe tropical fruits and caramel. Strong flavour that follows the aroma like a glove. Moderate to light sweet taste with a moderate bitter finish. Medium body, dry on the palate, moderate carbonation. A nice little treat, but with more carbonation, less sweetness, less bitterness and more dryness than the very best DIPAs.

355ml Bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£4.80):
This was a beer that started out really well for me, there was a lot of tropical fruits on the nose and plenty of hops too but when it came to the taste I felt it was all over the place with too much sourness and the hops being overpowered by the apricot and citrus flavours. The beer still remained drinkable but it was a real let down after smelling the beer, the balance seemingly off a little and a body that felt over-carbonated into the bargain.

mzaar (2011) - Varberg, SWEDEN - FEB 27, 2015
Flaska @ Grappa, Varberg. Riktigt bra.

czar (5549) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 26, 2015
pours cloudy pale golden with a nicely reviving off-white head showing some retention and lacing. pineapple and coconut-plenty, sweetish and powdery ginger root, sweet oranges and mangoes - orange blossom, fat yet intricate pale maltiness - touch of honey and pineapple juice sweetness; pine, woodsy and cedary, hint of vannila, alcohol. average to light carboantion, medium body - oily; balanced spicy-pineapple-piney-citrusy finish. not a hop blast but a unique funked up double ipa. enjoyed it!
