We brew our beer in New York, about halfway between the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest and the hop fields of Kent, England. So we use earthy English hops to build the foundation and bright citrusy American hops to bring the noise in the rambunctious IPA we call BLAST! British Maris Otter and German Pilsner malts lends solidity, balance and bready flavors to brace up a beer that’s beautifully hoppy, strangely quaffable and oddly compelling. Minerally hop bitterness is followed by a shock wave of flavor and aroma. You won’t even know what hit you.

A somewhat murky orange color, with a surprisingly low hop aroma. The flavor is hoppy, alcoholic and sweet, just a bit too much. Overall, this is a pretty solid IPA.

Some resin in aroma but otherwise too little hops and too much caramel. Mild taste for dipa, malt and bitter balanced resulting in too low bitterness. Ok but too low in hops.

growler on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear medium amber with a frothy white head, swirls of lace. Nice aroma of hops and malt. Taste is solid, biscuity malt that allows citrus hops to join in for the final half of the run. A big brew with alcohol warmth emerging late in the palate. To be savored on a cool evening.

Keg at London Fields as ’Brooklyn BLAST!’. Hazy orange, still, small foamy white head. Aroma is light spice, some citrus. Body is light but very foamy which makes the body seem bigger. Taste is tangy citrus - mostly lemon, some caramel, crisp finish with very little bitterness or aftertaste. Very drinkable and not at all harsh for a DIPA.

Pours hazy orange amber with a medium off white head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, sugary alcohol notes, yeast, mild citrus. Taste same as aroma with some mild bitterness. Palate is a med to full body, mild carbonation. Finish is sweet caramel malt, yeast, citrus orange notes, mild herbal earthy hops bitterness, slightly dry ending with sweet alcohol. Overall seems a bit subdued on the hops but still a good drinking and easy on the palate brew.
