COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brew our beer in New York, about halfway between the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest and the hop fields of Kent, England. So we use earthy English hops to build the foundation and bright citrusy American hops to bring the noise in the rambunctious IPA we call BLAST! British Maris Otter and German Pilsner malts lends solidity, balance and bready flavors to brace up a beer that’s beautifully hoppy, strangely quaffable and oddly compelling. Minerally hop bitterness is followed by a shock wave of flavor and aroma. You won’t even know what hit you.

Clover honey yellow with a small off white head. Smells like mixed floral arrangement, little malty too. Taste is sweet malts, honey, and light colored fruits. Body is med full. Seems to be lacking the bite of a strong hop presence, and slightly too sweet for a double ipa. I expected more bitter hops. Still not bad.

Pours hazy orange with low white head, quite bubbly. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, mango and light pine. Taste is initial fruit sweet followed by balanced bitter finish. Quite lively carbonation, sticky body, which detracts from the overall experience.

355 ml bottle. Pours a cloudy golden colour with a white lacy head. Aroma of pineapple, mango, herbs and caramel. Flavour is very juicy with floral hops, pineapple juice, grass, some alcohol, herbs and biscuit. Chewy citrusy notes too. Full bodied with a dry, juicy, bitter and slightly warming finish. Good.

Bottle. Golden, clear, pours with medium white head that disappeares quickly. Hops in aroma, but it’s not a hop bomb. Taste is more sweet than bitter. There are a lot of malts in this beer but where are hops? It needs more bitterness. A little bit of alcohol in aftertaste.

mile (2878) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 18, 2014
Bottle. Golden, small to average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate to full, malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and tropical fruitiness, some grapefruit – piney hoppyness, light alcohol. Body is medium to full, malty and sweetish flavor, some caramel and light tropical fruitiness, some grapefruit - piney hoppyness, light alcohol. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, light caramel and fruitiness with some piney - light grapefruit hoppyness, some alcohol. Bit thin caramel sweetish DIPA for the masses. Too much alcohol considering the body. Lacks character (and bitterness).

355 ml bottle. BBE 31.10.2014.
Pours golden color with a medium sized head. Grape fruit and orange on the flavor, grassy, hoppy and slightly malty. Very grape fruity flavor also, some gooseberries and resinous hops. Surprisingly refreshing and crisp, not as heavy nor overly sweet and malty as I anticipated. Tasty.

Oz. bottle from a trade @ home - BB: VI/2014 (2014-644) Thanks to Abu Nasim for the trade!

Clear deep orange beer, creamy irregular yellowish head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, pineapple, passion fruit, sweet mango, piny, sweet caramel, bit sugary, green tea. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bit oxidized, bitter touch, honey, sweet, very chemical kind of bitterness, some alcohol. Aftertaste: bitter, some honey, dry, bit grassy, hay, very malty, grains. Too old, alas... :( Probably much better when fresh.

Flaske fra vinmonopolet vika. Gylden, uklar farge. Hvit skumrand. Moderat karbonert. Smaker høy, appelsinskall, grapefrukt, gjær. Ganske fruktig humlet ettersmak. Double ipa indeed
