We brew our beer in New York, about halfway between the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest and the hop fields of Kent, England. So we use earthy English hops to build the foundation and bright citrusy American hops to bring the noise in the rambunctious IPA we call BLAST! British Maris Otter and German Pilsner malts lends solidity, balance and bready flavors to brace up a beer that’s beautifully hoppy, strangely quaffable and oddly compelling. Minerally hop bitterness is followed by a shock wave of flavor and aroma. You won’t even know what hit you.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2008 Just had it again. Very fresh, crisp and hoppy. Loads of citrus, pine and flowers. Is a better beer than I remembered. Draught @ Fynske Øldage: Orange coloured. Unclear. Dense off white head. Sweet, flowery and hoppy aroma. Flavour is herbal and hoppy. Sweet and fruity and quite fresh. Is well bodied. Nice bitter in the end. Refreshing and dry. good one. Was told by the tender, that it was Brooklyns Douple IPA, which sounds right.

Bottle… First Annual Treasure Coast Beer Festival 2008… Hazy, light golden ale with a large, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. Citrusy, peppery, perfumy hop aroma with a rumor of dry leather. Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - GBBF 2008. A dark gold to copper coloured beer. A lovely piney, hoppy aroma, which hits you from afar. The beer is very bitter with more great piney hops and a top blast of alcohol. Very full flavoured and tasty.

Bottle @ home, via trade. Pours a slightly dark orange appearance with a lasting cream colored head. Slightly metallic and a bit of bubblegum in the nose. Pretty juicy, herbal hoppy nose. Slightly doughy, chewy malty flavor. A bit juicy. Pils grainy / herbal. This bottle seems a bit dated, but the beer seems not too shabby.

Tap at Waterfront Ale House, Manhattan. hazy pale amber beer with a thick white head. Great big hoppy aroma orange, mango, very fresh and citrusy smelling. Flavour is also fruity, orange, apricot and a bit of bubble gum as well. A bit of earthiness, but has very low cohumolones. Sweet and smooth and very tasty. Light prickly alcohol in the finish. A lovely DIPA.
