COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brew our beer in New York, about halfway between the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest and the hop fields of Kent, England. So we use earthy English hops to build the foundation and bright citrusy American hops to bring the noise in the rambunctious IPA we call BLAST! British Maris Otter and German Pilsner malts lends solidity, balance and bready flavors to brace up a beer that’s beautifully hoppy, strangely quaffable and oddly compelling. Minerally hop bitterness is followed by a shock wave of flavor and aroma. You won’t even know what hit you.

From a growler. A: Smells very piney. An earthy citrus smell. A: Looks fine. Head is small. color is reddish amber. T: When cold very piney and earthy. A sort of body odor funk on the back of the palate. This beer gets better as it warms. It keeps that sort of pine note but the BO funk disappears. Goes down easy... almost too easy: light and not overly flavorful. P; Rough when cold. good when warm. A little light. Good hop balance. Was gonna give it a three but if you let it linger it has a nice creaminess. And after the beer is a bit warmer it can sit on the palate comfortably for a long while. Much better than many IPAs. Overall like mentioned above this beer is gross when its cold, but very good when it’s warm. Nice pine note in the hops and extremely easy to drink. A very great brew.

Keg at London Fields as ’Brooklyn BLAST!’. Hazy orange, still, small foamy white head. Aroma is light spice, some citrus. Body is light but very foamy which makes the body seem bigger. Taste is tangy citrus - mostly lemon, some caramel, crisp finish with very little bitterness or aftertaste. Very drinkable and not at all harsh for a DIPA.

Pours hazy orange amber with a medium off white head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, sugary alcohol notes, yeast, mild citrus. Taste same as aroma with some mild bitterness. Palate is a med to full body, mild carbonation. Finish is sweet caramel malt, yeast, citrus orange notes, mild herbal earthy hops bitterness, slightly dry ending with sweet alcohol. Overall seems a bit subdued on the hops but still a good drinking and easy on the palate brew.

Bottle. Semi hazy golden orange beer with a large white head. Aroma is fruity with notes of caramel, citrus, apricots, pine needles and nuts. Flavor is spicy with notes of caramel, citrus, herbs, spices and apricots. Insanely well balanced.

From a bottle, 2 weeks before "Best By" date. Pours a hazy orange with decent head and lacing. Sweet, malty flavor. Taste is citrus - clean at first - slight alcohol, gets stickier and maltier as the taste progresses. Not terrible overall, but a letdown as a DIPA.

On tap in Abbey bar, BK Color is a pale golden. Nice head with good lacing. Aroma is lots of citrus. Big hops. Flavor is tons of tropical fruits. Big pineapple and mango. Really hoppy but balanced by a malty backbone. A very light biscuity flavor. Nice carbonation too. Just a very nice IPA

Bottle at Örebro Ölcafé. Hoppy fruity smell with caramel and lychee. Similar taste. Very mild for a DIPA, could be old though I never checked the bottle. The bitterness was in the low-mid range for a regular IPA.
