COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brew our beer in New York, about halfway between the hop fields of the Pacific Northwest and the hop fields of Kent, England. So we use earthy English hops to build the foundation and bright citrusy American hops to bring the noise in the rambunctious IPA we call BLAST! British Maris Otter and German Pilsner malts lends solidity, balance and bready flavors to brace up a beer that’s beautifully hoppy, strangely quaffable and oddly compelling. Minerally hop bitterness is followed by a shock wave of flavor and aroma. You won’t even know what hit you.

Draught goblet (12 oz?) at American Flatbread in Burlington, VT (May 2008). Bright, oily translucent gold with a lasting bit of bright white foam and nice lacing....fresh, sweet aroma: honey, resinous hops, very inviting with no alcoholic harshness...body is sweet, juicy, lightly syrupy, with floral and faintly bitter notes...dry, clean, slightly mineralic-salty finish, verging on crisp with the syrupy thickness almost entirely washed away....nicely done, one of the best beers I’ve had from Brooklyn.

Bottle: Hazy golden color, low head. Aroma with mainly lime and citurs peel, grapefruit and resin. Also hints of caramel and malt. Flavor is medium sweet, alcoholic, grapefruit notes and pine. Intensive, herbal bitter end. Very tasty.

Bottle. Pale amber with an inch of white head. Hoppy aroma, but ethereally so for this kind of thing - floral and zesty citrus (mandarin, grapefruit), peach, honeyed hay. Medium bodied, a little creamy. Hay, peach - no caramel - floaty floral and citrus notes. Some pineapple. Dry with insistent bitterness. Some pine as well as citrus (bitter orange, lime leaf) in the long finish. Fine drop - comes across as determined to show that you can do a big hoppy pale ale and class it up a bit. And succeeds.

Pours a clear light rust orange. A pine and citrus hop aroma. Taste is a mix of citrus hops, pine, and a some floral. A strong bitter hop aftertaste.

Surprisingly light in taste, the volum of alcohol considered. Sweetness from malts, fruitiness from hops, and a dry finish from the british hops. "only a couple of beers a day" - beer, but worth every mouthful.

Lightly hazy golden pour. Light white head. Mild lacing. Earthy floral hop aroma. Medium body. Earthy hops strong in flavor. Medium malt sweetness. Caramel. Yeast finishes a slightly tangy flavor. ---Rated via iPhone

0.355l bottle. Smells really nice this. Lots of piney, birchy dark branchy bitter goodness with citrus, orange zest bitterness, blood oranges, some sulfur thingy and ripe yeasty fruits. It looks quite nice also with a cloudy almost glowing deep orange colored body under a big superbly lacing off-white. Lots of flavor also. I get that dry licorice thing that oh so many double ipas gives me in the first sip. Almost like white licorice, and often when I get that I really like the beer. It’s quite piney and orange-citrussy. Feels thick and oily in the mouth and the carbonation is just about spot on. Quite nice to drink this. Some ripe fruity thing towards the finish. Almost like yeast and it’s leaving a hoppy and fruity aftertaste. Yeah, a solid one indeed! 20.06.2014

Pours gold with white head and not much lacing. Aroma of tropical and citrus fruit. Smelled liked like the suntan lotion that I just bought. Taste is the same with a noticeable alcohol bite.

Deutlich hopfiger Antrunk, bei dem die Trockenheit nicht stört. Blumig, bitter grasig mit Alkoholtouch. Etwas klebrig, frisch hopfig genau im richtigen Maße. Gutes IIPA! 11/12/12/12//12
