Bottle: pours a nice brown with a tan head. It smells like sweet toasty bread with a little hop spice. The flavor is a nice, balanced pallet of maltiness and a little bitterness. It has some toast, and some light chocolate flavors. Great beer!
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 HardingG (50) - Butler, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 12, 2011
UPDATED: MAY 20, 2012 Very good. Smelled malty, minimal hoppiness. Taste, one of the smoother, richer browns I have had. They note to have additional American hops added, but they do it in way that maintains an even keel. Not very complex, but a well mannered brown.

12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours brown with a thick, beige head. Aroma of caramel malts with a little toffee and chocolate plus some floral hops. Flavor about the same with a good mixture of everything. Average texture. A good brown ale.

This is one of the better brown ales I have had, especially with an abv this low, very flavorful, roasted malt dominates, with some hops and chocolate mixed in as well, very flavorful yet easy to drink.....well done

Geringfügig säuerlicher Antrunk mit hopfig-malzigem Grundton. Minimal alkoholisch, das Malz wird stärker, wird durch die Herbe aber begrenzt. Süffig, in Teilen eher mild. Süffig malzig, erdig, nussig, erfrischende Säure. 7/11/11/11/11/11

35,5 cl. bottle from the supermarket. Dark brown colour with a tanned head. Medium sized head that fades quickly. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, nuts and some toasted. Also some citrus-hop notes. Lightly sweet taste with a light bitter finish. Lively carbonation with a creamy texture. Nice brown ale I like the more bitter flavors that usual in brown ales.
