Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

Had this one bottled at the Snuggery at Union Station in Chicago, Illinois, thanks Jeremy!! Bright and complex maltiness, nutty and caramelly, smooth, with a slightly bitter finish of chocolate. I’d say this is amongst the finer examples of this type.

12 oz. bottle. Nice brown color paired with a medium off white head. Nice lacing is left behind. Definite caramel and malt in the aroma with a hint of hops lingering in the nose. It has a light mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Definite tastes of chocolate and roasted malt. The solid malt flavor is offset nicely by hops. This one finishes clean. Overall a great brown ale that is worth keeping in your normal rotation!

Fantastic amount of flavor in suck a well-priced brown ale. Not fancy, this guy focuses on dark malts. Some hints of flavors are in there but are most likely the result of the malt used, not extra ingredients. This is a great example of what brown should be, very well balanced.

Great brown ale. Crisp clean on the palate and great malty choc finish. Enjoy this one with pork chops.

Pours dark with a decent head. Notes of rich brown caramel. Had it after a long day’s work and was most refreshing!
