Bright and complex maltiness, nutty and caramelly, smooth, with a slightly bitter finish of chocolate. I’d say this is amongst the finer examples of this type. Elwood (677), Leesburg, Virginia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 6, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Nice brown color paired with a medium off white head. Nice lacing is left behind. Definite caramel and malt in the aroma with a hint of hops lingering in the nose. It has a light mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Definite tastes of chocolate and roasted malt. The solid malt flavor is offset nicely by hops. This one finishes clean. Overall a great brown ale that is worth keeping in your normal rotation! | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 5, 2009 Fantastic amount of flavor in suck a well-priced brown ale. Not fancy, this guy focuses on dark malts. Some hints of flavors are in there but are most likely the result of the malt used, not extra ingredients. This is a great example of what brown should be, very well balanced. thejon375 (392), Tampa, Florida, USA
