3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours clear, dark, reddish brown. Minimal malt aromas, flavors of caramel and lightly roasted malts. A bit of smoke or chocolate roast. Not all that complex, and aroma could’ve been much stronger, but at the very least, succeeds in being what macro brown ales only try to be.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear, dark brown with a thin to moderate head that disappeared somewhat quickly. Light caramel aroma. Flavor is caramel and lightly roasted malt. I didn’t get any of the creaminess listed in the deScription. Ok, but not great.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Brown with a light brown head. Aroma is generic. Nothing you look for in a brown ale or anything for that matter. Maybe construction paper. The flavor was probably sucked out of this one and added to there Imperial Stout. That is my only explanation for why this tastes like crap. Pure garbage.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Amber-brown body with moderately high carbonation and a foamy off-white head. Aroma of caramel and toasty malt plus toffee and sweet milk chocolate. Flavor is of caramel, chocolate, dark fruit skins, earthy hops and a touch of smoke. Medium-thin to medium body. Gets a little stale and cloying, but basically a decent quality brown ale that paired well with some buffalo jerky. Feel free to put that last part in the next edition of your book Garrett.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle-Poured deep deep red w/light brown head, almost looked like a root beer. Had a nice malty flavor w/traces of chocotate & molasis. Had some hops to back it up, but didn’t overpower the flavor. Nice balance, long finish, I enjoyed it. Refreshing, I would drink this again.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught and bottle. Heavier on the hops than other browns. Chocolate and coffee come through nicely. Smooth mouthfeel. A very decent brown ale.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Smoky taste, roasty, a little chocolately bitter. Heavy for a brown ale. Darker color, minimal head.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Had on tap @ Pizza Joint. Much darker than most brown ales... this knocks the socks off of New Castle. Has a nice frothy tan head. Slightly sweet, but not too sweet. Great black malt at the start, and finishes with a sweet but a slight hop to prevent the sweetness from being too much. Excellent Brew

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at the Flying Saucer. Bark brown with no head to speak of. Aroma was so light, but part of it may have been the smoky bar. Flavor was also barely there. Just sweet, sort of nutty, and light. Finished very clean, with a hint of nut. 84th percentile? Really? This was just sort of boring to me. I’d rater have a Newcastle if I was gonna go brown. Not bad, just sorta bland.

After sniffing a couple of times one is able to detect a hint of nutmeg infused in the aroma. This beer is bronze in color and hosts a good head. This beer enters the mouth smoothly and with a soft tingle as a mild bitterness creeps in. To finish, this beer leaves a nutty taste lingering on the tongue.
