COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

Pours light brown/reddish tinge. Aroma is quite sweet and malty: sugar and caramel, and then surprisingly a floral hop aroma of an English variety. The fact that Brooklyn’s beers are more British than American has really caught me off guard. Flavour is quite complex but typical brown ale. Nutty malt, roasted, and then floral fruity hops.

Bottle. Aroma is roasty, chocolate Pours dark brown, medium tan head. Taste has both the sweetness from the chocolate and a mild hop bitterness. Carbonation is average to soft, body is more full than average. Pretty long finish, texture is a little sticky. Overall this is a pretty good brown ale.

Deep maroon with ruby highlights and a small off-white head. The aroma is mostly thick caramel, brown sugar, and English hops. Similar flavor, nice and sweet with a fruity English hop finish that I just love. The body on this is thick and creamy, but the carbonation is more prickly and abrasive than it should be IMO. Nice rich session ale, won’t be forgetting this anytime soon.

Bottle. Dark brown colour with a medium-sized beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee with hints of hops. Flavour is slightly sweet, roasted malt, coffee and some hops. Light-bodied, finish is dryish. Not as good as I was expecting.

Aged bottle. Pours small head that retains. Not much aroma coming through but heavy dark malts come through. Not a lot of hop aromas. Would have again.

It is a pretty bad american brown ale, not in it’s blandness but in its poor flavor.

Amazingly fresh on the palate, fairly unassuming on the aroma, not giving much away for the taste. wouldn’t say this beer is breaking boundaries in the craft beer world, but a real solid brown ale from brooklyn
