COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

Bottle. Deep dark brown with a mahogany infusion around the edges. Big aroma of molasses and brown sugar. Flavour is somewhat muted given the expectation from the aroma, with nodes of burnt wood and chocolate malt dancing around a somewhat watery blandness. Medium-length mild bitter burnt wood finish.

Pretty decent brown ale, smells like what you might expect from a brown ale darker roasty malts, the smoothness of this beer was quite good.

Clear dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt and hoppy. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Bitter and dry finish. An excellent full bodied brown ale with a good hop bite. 160405

Bottle. Pours brown. Off white head. Nose and taste of caramel malt. Some earthy grass in the nose as well. Rather plain. Light bodied. Smooth. Easy drinking.

Very taste brown ale, liked it quite a bit. I would buy again, for sure. I don’t want to write anymore, but I need 75 characters.

This isn’t 1991 - this brew is below average, to my tastebuds. Pour is Dark brown with amber highlights, Aromas are slight chocolate malts and a pale fruity aroma as well. I can’t help but be put off by the flavor profile - the chocolate malts and friends are a bit messy, really, while the sweetness and tropical fruits are odd at best. I don’t like the hop profile, either. Meh.

Catching up on ratings from last few months. A decent example of a brown ale, not amazing. Sessionable though, at 5.6.
