Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

Purs a dark red with a very small white head. Aroma is of chocolate and coffee, and a hint of spice. Palate brings a little coffee, a little chocolate, a touch of hops, that’s about it. Good drinkable beer, but not the best out there.

Pours a transparent brownish ruby color with a medium tan head. Aromas of toasty malt. Very thin body, almost watery in consistency, with small sharp bubbles. Finishes with a little bit of hops, but otherwise rather dull in the finish. Seems a middle of the road brown – something I wouldn’t be sad about drinking again, but I doubt I’d choose it over anything decent looking that I’ve never had before.

Strong chocolate with slight roast in the nose, slightly astringent. Deep rich ruby color with light brown, minimal head that leaves little lacing. smoooth taste that starts full and creamy and fades to coffee, finishing smooth. A decent brown ale, but not enough hop character to be an american version and not enough backbone to be an english version. good job on the complexity, would just like a little more malt backbone lending a toasted, biscuit type of character.

Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in McKinney, TX. Pours a clear brown, orange hues, with off-white head. Aroma of toasted grain. Flavor of faint caramel, toasted grains, as well as a slight hoppy flavor and nice small bitter. Light-medium body with high carbonation....Over all, easy drinking and tasty..

Pours a dark mahogany color with a small tope head. Nose: caramel, chocolate, roasted malt that smells a bit stale. Taste: Is watery burnt coffee. Actually kind of gross.
