COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

smells of mild and infused cocoa and caramel, slight solvent/alcohol. Dark chestnut with a fine crema-colored head. Body is rather creamy, almost soapy. Flavor is a restrained toffee and cream with nuttiness. Interesting, but less bold tasting than a truly exceptional brown. Also, it is not at all boldly hopped, even relative to any standard.

12 oz. bottle, pours reddish dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of toffee, dried fruits, toasted nut and caramel malt. Flavour of sweet dried fruits, some off-balanced sour notes, toasted malt and light hops. Nothing too inspiring.
