3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 blindeyedbetty (189) - Utah, USA - AUG 27, 2010
12 oz. bottle pours a dark, opaque brownish-black with garnet highlights and a creamy, tan head. Aroma is of nuts and dark chocolate. Front palate is nutty and earthy with malt in the middle and a finish of dried fruit: raisins, dates, plums. Aftertaste is of the chocolate variety. Smooth brown ale. Another reason I love Brooklyn beers. Would be nicely paired with an herb-crusted buffalo roast or steak with roasted veggies and potatoes.

So damn happy to finally see some brooklyn beers in norway. I haven’t had brooklyn brown in such a long time/ øl og mat fest 2010- nose is nutty brown malty, some hints of chocolate and coffee co-mingling with a subtle hop accent. taste is slightly sweet, with a good deal of nuttyness. great body in that the maltyness doesn’t come off as being too heavy. a nice bitter hop finish that begs another taste. How I’ve missed you baby.......

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine in Chesapeake, VA (best before October 2010). Pours dark brown, as expected, with a thin creamy off-white head. Aroma of floral hops and bittersweet chocolate. The flavor is as expected from a brown ale, lightly hoppy with with chocolate and caramel malts to balance. This is really a perfect brown ale and you would be hard pressed to find a better example of this style.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 KYBreakfast (15) - Kentucky, USA - JUL 21, 2010
Dark Amber/Brown with a ruby hue.
Notes of Caramel, a little chocolate.
Apple, Caramel, a little brown sugar with some chocolate zest, toasty.
Thin/watery but refreshing mouthfeel.
Not filling at all - definitely a good session brown. A good beer to hand to a girl that is looking for something other than a light beer. A gateway brown ale for the beginning craft beer drinker.
