COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

Bottle. Pours a dark ruby red color with brownis notes, and a frothy tan head. Aroma is of roasted malt, caramel, sligtly fruity and hops. Flavor is of roasted malt, caramel, a tartness, some fruit and hops. Maybe just the slightest amount of coffee. The body is thin and slightly watery. Overall a solid Brown Ale, that is quite refreshing.

Rich amber colored beer with aromas of caramel and roasted wheat. I recommend to really have this one in a glass, it makes it so much better. Tastes of caramel, toffee, and some nutty flavors. Smooth and easy to drink. A solid brown ale.

Draft at International Beer Garten (Lutz, FL). Pours a clear brown with a reddish hue around the edges and an off-white head. Roasted caramel malt and nutty aroma. The flavor includes enough hops to be noticeable without overpowering the maltiness. Nice lingering aftertaste.

downender (4186) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JUN 20, 2010
Bottle from Peckhams, Glasgow. Deep brown with plenty of ruby red undertones and a momentary, off-white head. Rich, red fruits, nuts and caramel aroma. Rich, sticky, fruit cake flavour, with plenty of sweet caramel and chocolate, with a touch of marzipan and prune in the finish. Ok, but sweetly one dimensional.
