Pours a dark brown into the glass with nice sustaining head. Aroma is toasty and sweet. The flavor is spot on with a nice balance of roasted characteristics and sweetness. I am loving this beer! Taste is a lot of maple syrup, brown sugar, caramel, malt, with some nuts and a decent hop bite. This is they type of Brown Ale for those that aren’t a big fan of the style. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Jun 18, 2008 33 cl bottle - Dark brown almost opaque beer with a beige colored head. Aroma is highly malty, roasted ones, with hints of nuts. Flavor is again malty and somehwat sour or acidic, with strong notes of hops. Not a favorite brown ale really. A bit too sour. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 15, 2008 Pours a nice dark ruby/brown with a tan head. Rather subdued nose of roasted malts and nuts. The flavor is similar, roasted chocolate malts, with hints of nuts and coffee. Nice smooth and sticky palate, an overall very good beer. oreogobbler (217), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 15, 2008 Pours like a cola. Dark brown at the bottom and gets lighter and more carbonated as it moves to the top. Nice creamy head. Very elegant. Smells like toffee and coffee rolled into a chocolate hop hug. The flavor is a wonderful balance of acidity, chocolate, and caramel. Sooo tasty. Palate is a bit thin. It’s not too complex but it’s a wonderful beer to drink at anytime of the morning, mid afternoon, and evening. Haslinger (642), Syracuse, New York, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 10, 2008 Poured with very little head and couldn’t get much aroma (probably too cold). However, the color was a very rich brown with a hint of orange (is that mahogany?) Taste was nice...hints of roast and chocolate. Had a nice hop overtone. Overall solid brown ale.
