Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

Bottle. Pours a brown color with a hint of red. Has a deep aroma with roasted malts entering the nose. Taste has hints of chocolate, coffee and ends with a bittersweet flavor. Tried it from a "Brooklyn Beer Party" pack after the Pennant Ale and Lager, and this is the best so far.

Lovely woody ruby colour with a modest tan head, beautifully caronated. Vanilla, caramel, roasted aromas with dry hoppy flowers. Good mouthfeel with coffee and creamy flavours. quite dry but some sweetness at the end before hops dry it back out with a multi layered finish. Quality as I expected.

Pours a very attractive deep mahogany colour. nutty aromas followed up by a caramel malt taste. rich in the mouth, and finishes sort of chocoaltey. Wicked tastey.

Bottle. Deep brown-red pour with a thin, tan head. Malty aroma with milk chocolate, anise, and floral components. Much drier than I expected. Roasty malt and toast with coffee and pipe tobacco on the finish. A hint of honey, but sour notes predominate. I want some fries and malt vinigar with this ale.

Pours a mahogany color with off-white head. Malty aroma. Flavor was sweet malts, roasted malts, some tobacco and a hop bite in the finish. Smooth but a bit thin in the body. I am not a big brown ale guy, but this is a good one.

0 beers in. Pours a nice frothy head on top of a somewhat cloudy mahogany beer - almost red in color. The aroma is slighly sweet malty aroma. As the beer enters the mouth, a welcoming malty bitterness arises. On the swallow, a dark chocolate taste stays in the mouth with a little bit of a sour note to it. I would rather this beer have a little more nose to it - most of the flavor comes from the back of the mouth. A very drinkable beer - one that I would enjoy over any animal: baby back ribs, ham, bacon, pork chops, etc.

A brown beer with a cumulus head. I don’t know how they did it. Very refreshing, but lacking a bit in flavor and palate. Crystal in character. Worth its dollar, but I expected more from its irresistible looks.
