jrmac (210), USA May 22, 2008 Beer poured an opaque brown with a thick white head. Smells of malt, chocolate, and hops. Taste is smilar. Has a good roast malt character with a touch of nuttiness. Good. Better then Newcastle. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA May 18, 2008 I would have overlooked this beer if it was not the only one (besides the lager) that the booth had left at GOBF. It was a VERY good brown ale! It has a sweet nuttiness to it for a start and a clean, smooth sweet finish. In between I got notes of sweet wood, tobacco, some hops, and something vanilla-y. I did a double-take. Good stuff. SHIG (2012), Aviano, Italy May 18, 2008 Draught: Poured a chocolate color a beige color head. The aroma is nutty and leafy. The taste was roasted with malts and hops. Davinci (295), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 18, 2008 Clear deep garnet to brown pour with small beige head. Fruity roasty aroma, bubblegum esters, very similar to many of their brews. More roasty flavor than their other brews which is nice, some mild fruit and more esters. Medium to light in body. Another boring beer from brookly. DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel May 14, 2008 Bottle sample at a beer festival in kibbutz Maabarot, May ’08. Clear brown with a beige head. Lots of hops in the aroma with some caramelly malt notes and some nuts. Sweet malty flavor with a nice nutty character, some fruitiness and a bitter hoppy finish. Medium-bodied. JustinFromAL (114), Birmingham, Alabama, USA May 12, 2008 12 oz. Bottle. Nice dark cherry brown, slim white head. Nutty smell. Good Brown Ale, would drink again! joebudzjoe (222), Connecticut, USA May 8, 2008 Updated: Jul 14, 2009clear dark brown body with a nice frothy tan head. mellow aroma of malts and sweet milk chocolates. mellow finish with a moderate texture. the tounge stays excited well after the sip. a very good beer. FatTony (121), Augusta, Georgia, USA May 6, 2008 12 ounce bottle- poured out a dark tea color with a long lasting wheat colored head that left plenty of ringed lacing in the glass. Aroma was light malty chocolate. The taste was all you could ask for in a brown ale, hints of caramel and toffee with a light sweetness and no bite. Slightly thin on the palate. After a horrible experience with the Brooklyn Pilsner, ( I would rather drink Milwaukee’s Best out a work boot), I was hesitant to try their Brown Ale, but they may have redeemed themselves here.
