COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

Bottle from Dmac. Thanks!
Pours a just-shy-of-beautiful mahogany with a nice, light beige head. Aroma is sweet plastic nut and lightly roasted malt. Flavor is grassy nut, watery roasted malt, and a light licorice backbone. Watery mouthfeel. Needs a lot of work, kinda like the Mets.

Had a 12 oz bottle in a local NY style pizza joint. Light to medium brown color, thin head. Grassy earthy tones with a little sweet bourbon aroma to it. A little hops up front with some lemony sourness tones. Some nuttiness, but not as much as I’d expect in a brown ale. Nice roasted coffee finish. Smooth, light to medium bodied, well carbonated. Nice flavor, some hops presence and 5.6% alcohol make this a nice session beer. Goes very well with pizza!

I appreciated the hops in this ale. Not normally a fan of this style (strong ale). It is not bad but I prefer other styles. For what it is, it’s above average.

bottle pours dark brown with a tall tan head. Aroma is brown sugar and licorice. Bready malts, lots of candy sugar and a clove and sarsaparilla finish.

color is dark but clean, malty aroma is pleasant. i would expect more on the taste, but there is not much outside mild nuttiness. an ok medium bodied beer, nothing outstanding.

[Tap] Pours a dark shade of brown. Very little head on this one. Sweet aroma of caramel, some hazelnut and vanilla. Taste is a bit more dry. Dusty grains, cocoa, toasted nut and a decent hop bitterness. Average body with a relatively high carbonation level. Quite enjoyable and highly drinkable.
