Bottle.
Appearance: Unassuming, dark-copper brown, very little to no head -- perhaps the fridge was too cold?
Aroma: fresh hops, grass, caramel, and milk chocolatem
Taste: Caramel, toasted malt, mild and pleasant hops, pear, bitter chocolate, and a very light sour bitterness at the very end.
Palate: almost on the cusp of being too "sticky" for my taste, but still on the side of good.
Overall: A great beer -- could be better? Perhaps this foray is revealing that this is a beer best served not too cold. A bit too syrupy on the finish, but otherwise a well-balanced brown ale. Try with homemade french onion soup! greenleaf (90), Florida, USA Apr 20, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours nice clean ruby brown with a small and quickly dissapearing head. Nose is nutty malt, taste is very similar. The hop profile adds to the uniqueness of this beer. A nice brown ale. waolsen (1220), Littleton, Colorado, USA Apr 18, 2008 bottle brown/red pour with thin head. sweet malts, piney hops, nutty, candy aroma. chocolate, dark roasted coffee, banana, sweet malts and hoppy. overall pretty sweet flavoring. tlind2 (560), Helsinki, Finland Apr 18, 2008 Draught@Painobaari, Helsinki, 02/2008. Deep brown color, low head. Nutty, hoppy aroma. The taste is well-balanced, with a nice, nutty finish. A good american brown ale. princesslala (37), North Carolina, USA Apr 16, 2008 It pours a brownish red with a tan, frothy rootbeer-like head. It has noticeable, delicate lacing. The aroma is of sweet malts and hops. Chocolate malts are the dominant flavor, followed by a clean wash of hops. It is well balanced and perfectly carbonated. I would serve this beer with smoked fish or barbecue. Bragesnak (2223), Aarhus, Denmark Apr 15, 2008 From LIC, Aarhus

I love American Brown Ales and this is one of the best: Nice mouthfeel and a great combination of crystal malt and aroma hops BuckeyeSammy (454), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Apr 13, 2008 Malty, nutty aroma. Nicely balenced, well carbonated brown ale. A bit too much of a simple session beer. Flavor is sweet malt, nutty, hop character on the back end. Guinness4Duff (507), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA Apr 7, 2008 Pours a clear brown with a ruby tinge and a moderate tan head. Aroma is mildly nutty. Flavor is more of the same, mildly nutty with a little stronger roasted flavor. Well balanced and easy drinking.
