COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

pours a brownish/maroonish color with a head that becomes nonexistent in a few seconds. smells of chocolate, almonds, and a little spice. tastes pretty much the same. this is a consistent beer. i highly recommend.

On tap at Hidive. Pour is clear light brown with a small white head. Aroma is malty, sweet and lightly hoppy. Flavor is light malt, toffee, and a crisp hop finish. Nice, could drink a few of these. The crisp hoppy finish saves it for me, otherwise I think it would have been unbalanced.

The great pretender. The English brown basterdized by American brewers. Now despite this attempt to shamelessly Americanize a classic English style I must say that it was pretty good. Sharp hoppy aroma, nice brown colour, some chocolate flavour slightly bitter. Like I said, not bad, but I like my English ale made with English hoppy and yeast.

Thick, dark appearance. Hints of chocolate and barley in the nose. Thinner than appearance would suggest. Definitely got chocolate. Very good brown ale.

Six pack from Whole Foods. Fruity aroma. Pretty flavorful for a brown ale with plenty of chocolate notes.

Pours brown with a long-lasting frothy head. Smells of chocolate, cigar smoke, malt and fresh hops. Tastes of hops, bitter chocolate, old coffee, and milk duds. Nice lacing.

12 oz bottle from EZ. Pours a nice deep red with a large fluffy beige head. Aroma is all malts with some grainy bread and cereal, light chocolate, sweetness and a touch of vinegar. Medium to slightly thinner body with stingy carbonation. Flavor is a slight step up from the aroma with notes of chocolate malts, vinegar, cereal and light honey blended in. Sessionable at only 5.2% and an all around okay beer.
