COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2009 Bottle. Was actually brown which I liked as many other brown ales are black. Had a decent head as well. The brown ale had a nice roasted smell. Sweet, malty taste with hints of coffee and caramel. Slightly bitter in the finish but not to bad. A good beer all round.

12 oz bottle pours dark ruby with cream one fingered head. Deep raisin notes with chocolate and caramel, possibly cherry. Super sweet thick brown ale dominated by a fruity roasted brown sugar finish. Really unique brown. Almost hints of maple on the finish. Just a tad too much carb for my tongue.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Chocolate, hops and some rosted malts. This beer is a lot better than expected, but thats probably because I tend to underestimate the bigger american microbrewerys...

On tap at Barely pub. Chesnut pour with a bit of offwhite head that dissipates. Aroma is of some caramel and sweet dark fruit. A bit of coffee as well. Mouth is sweet, caramel, some nutty malt and a bit of breadiness. Pretty nice.
