COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

Dark, clear reddish brown, solid beige head, good lacing. A lot of hops in the aroma, toasted malts and caramel, hints of nuts. Flavour is chocolate, nuts, caramel with a solid hop finish. Flavour leaves a bit to be desired, it seems a bit thin.

This is one of the better brown ales I’ve had. I think this is just as good as the Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale. My big complaint about brown ales is that they tend to be sweetish, with little to no hops. I realize this is the style, but I have no use for them. This one is a bit more hoppy, but still has a nice, roasty finish. Almost like a mild porter. Very nice.

A dark brown beer with a small fast disappearing head. Aroma was malty & fresh. Taste was malt & caramel. Very mild taste-one of my least favorite browns.

Really nice aroma of roasted malt and syrup. Dry malty flavor with hints of coffee beans and dark chocolate. Light bitterness and short aftertaste.

Rich aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. Deep, dark brown color with a slightly beige head. Taste was sweet, with strong caramel notes and echoes of the aforementioned malts and chocolate. Quite delicious.

Nice version on tap at Magoos. Some malt odor and dark Amber in color, with no head but a little lacing. Sweet but not excessive, fruits and lots of nuts and malt. A little oily. Finishes slightly sweet.
