| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 11, 2007 Pours a dark brown colour with some ruby red when you hold it to the light and no head. Aroma of carmalized malts with notes of chocolate. Flavour is lighter then expected, sweet malty base, and a bitter/sour finish, a bit thin. Not very interesting, but not bad. I think I expected more from this beer, the the brooklyn lager was awsome. Alldaydrinker (558), Norwood, Massachusetts, USA

Nose of citrus hops, roasted malts, chocolate, and caramel. Initial taste is chocolate, roasty, and sweet. Body is thin. Palate finished mildly bitter with a lingering chocolate. Some head retention, no lacing of the glass. Defreni (999), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 8, 2007 Very nice brown ale. Poured nice ruby brown color with nice head and lacing. This isn’t advertised as a Nut Brown, but tasted nuttier than most nut browns. Maybe I’m crazy. Sweet aftertaste with a nice hop balance. I’d definitely have this again. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 6, 2007 From a twelve ounce bottle purchased at "Bigg’s" supermarket - this one pours a very dark brown brew with a tall tan head of foam and a very faint malty aroma. Tastewise, it’s quite nice, though a tad on the sweet side. crushinat0r (227), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Sweet with a very smooth chocolate, smoky and woody aftertaste. Complex and nice, solid flavour through and through. kringlan (20), Falun, Sweden
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 4, 2007 Warm, dark-brown in color with a beige head that settles into a thin layer of foam. A fruity (raisins) slightly chocolaty aroma with hints of molasses, almonds and caramel. Nicely acidic but still smooth to the palate. The flavour is slightly acidic with a bit of sweetness. Lightly bitter. Molasses and frutiness is there. Aroma promised more than the flavour could live up to. Still, this is a nice and refreshing beer, with a nice dry aftertaste.
