BeerBiker (1384), Odense, Denmark Jun 21, 2007 Updated: Dec 8, 2007[Sampled at Dexter.] Maybe my favorite of the "normal" brown ales. Full of ingredients, hops, spices, coffee, fruit, complex, bitterness and a long nice time lasts it to swallow this nice brew! bdigital (585), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 20, 2007 Very good brew. Dark brown in color with scents of coffee, hops, malt, and caramel. Very smooth mouth feel. Tastes of chocolate, coffee, hops, malt and has a very silky finish to it. Excellent beer. Parksy (40), Alberta, Canada Jun 19, 2007 Good overall. Like the hopps flavor, and can definitely taste the caramel. Nice after taste. Would recommend. robinvboyer (1419), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Jun 15, 2007 Updated: Aug 7, 2007very dark amber color. quick dissipating head. Wow, this is very hoppy with a slight caramel to it. The malt comes through in the flavour with a big hop jolt in the finish, a very solid brown ale. ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jun 9, 2007 Appearance: Dark red-brown body with a tan head that disappeared almost instantly.
Smell: A nearly nonexistent aroma of chocolate and cherries.
Taste: Indistinct, weak tastes of chocolate and coffee with traces of bitterness leading into a dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Slightly watery.
Drinkability: Very average. Far too bland and ordinary for me to seek out again in the future. Ingevara (516), Hindås, Sweden Jun 8, 2007 Coffe brown with an appetizing fragrance. Refreshing flavors with a lot of aroma. Slightly sweet, lingering mouth feel. Nice! dkoonce (880), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA Jun 7, 2007 Clear brown, with a modest, creamy tan head. Nutty caramel aroma, with malt as well. Hoppier than the aroma would indicate. Sweet and finishes a bit long. cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA Jun 6, 2007 Rated 4/24/07: Nice amber-brown pour with a constant 1/2" tan head with mild lacing. Smooth aroma of rich toffee and brown sugar with a healthy yeastiness. Mouthfeel is lively and quenching, I like my browns to be thicker and creamier but this is still good. Flavor is much like the aroma only more intense with a solid nutty flavor that almost has a dry roasted quality. A touch of hops comes across at just the right time. Mild tastes of fresh coffee and milk chocolate, faint but noticeable. Quite complex flavor for a brown ale I rounded that up to a 9 for good show.
