| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2007 Clear brown, with a modest, creamy tan head. Nutty caramel aroma, with malt as well. Hoppier than the aroma would indicate. Sweet and finishes a bit long. cking (1019), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 6, 2007 Rated 4/24/07: Nice amber-brown pour with a constant 1/2" tan head with mild lacing. Smooth aroma of rich toffee and brown sugar with a healthy yeastiness. Mouthfeel is lively and quenching, I like my browns to be thicker and creamier but this is still good. Flavor is much like the aroma only more intense with a solid nutty flavor that almost has a dry roasted quality. A touch of hops comes across at just the right time. Mild tastes of fresh coffee and milk chocolate, faint but noticeable. Quite complex flavor for a brown ale I rounded that up to a 9 for good show. The taste was a bit bitter for the initial few drinks but had an overall pleasant caramel flavor. I’ll have to try another. obguthr (1017), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 2, 2007 Delicious caramel and chocoalte aroma. Pours clear brown, between a tea and cola hue, with a light brown head. Glass coating from start to finish. Moderately strong hop taste with walnut and charred oak notes. Finishes with nice hops but a rather unpleasant tinny taste. This a complete beer. I’m thoroughly pleased. shendrix (478), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 30, 2007 An amusing little brown ale, with a bit of chocolate and caramel in the nose, which comes forward on the tongue. Balanced out by a mildly hoppy finish, this is a tad sweet for a daily drinker, but not a bad brew at all. screwball (796), Motala, Sweden
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 29, 2007 Dark red-brown. Begie small head. Aroma is from nuts, apple, burnt malt. The taste is bitter dry malty with nuts. BigBeer45 (688), Troy, Michigan, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 27, 2007 Bottle: a brown red pour with a off-white foamy head, faint chocolate, roasted malt with caramel aromas with sweetness inter-mingled, sweet malt taste with a hop bite to balance, hops make this drink bubbly, leaves a good clean finish and are prominent in this beer, some bread and chocolate flavors, easy to drink.
