JAF737300 (791), Tampa, Florida, USA May 15, 2007 This is a very deep and dark brown ale. It pours saddle brown and shows a decent head. It has notes of caramel and chocolate on both the nose and the palate. It finished quite nice as well! SJM620 (11), Tennessee, USA May 15, 2007 slightly sweet with a slight bitterness. slight hint of caramel. I thought it was a relatively smooth beer, definately enjoyable. jspruit (111), Dublin, Ireland May 13, 2007 Bought 35.5cl bottle in Denmark (looks like it was labelled specifcally for the Danish market at the Brooklyn Brewery), drank in tulip glass at home in Ireland.
One finger head on the pour that didn’t stick around too long. Color was a nice light brown. Smelled a bit of chocolate and coffee and a bit sweet, but not overpowering and definitely pleasant, what I was expecting from this brown ale. Tasted a bit malty to start off with-then some chocolate and hops taste came in, but not too strong-a bit sweet even. Went down smooth and tasted great all of the way through.
I have heard good things about this beer and would say that they were all confirmed in this bottle-definitely a beer that I would look forward to drinking agin. When will they distribute directly to Ireland?
