DrBayern (1135), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Apr 17, 2007 12 bottle. The pur reveals a dark brown liquid under a medium beige head and good lace. Brown sugar and some dark fruit in the aroma. Medium body and carbonation with a smooth mouthfeel. There is a slight sourness that accompanies the malty sweetness with enough hop presence to round out the nicely dry finish. Very drinkable. MrChris (110), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Apr 15, 2007 Nice sweet malted nose. Small tan head that dies quickly. Hey, this brown ale is brown in color. Reddish-brown actually. Decent carbonated mouth feel. More watery, less syrupy. Billed as “chocolate and coffee flavors accenting the malted background”. I didn’t notice this. I did like the hoppyness accenting the malted ale. Nice sweet hoppy ending. This brown ale holds together to the bottom of the glass, making this an ale you can appreciate again and again.
emerica56 (575), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Apr 13, 2007 This beer pours a nice creamy head with a nice brown color to it. It has a nice smooth taste of honey and nuts it is a decent brown ale. AllAboutStout (605), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Apr 13, 2007 Pours a lighter brown that is pretty clear around the edges. No head to speak of. There are a good amount of hops coming through in the nose. This is a pretty good brown. The hops are a nice compliment here. The mouthfeel is a little thin and too watery for my taste. But this is still a very good beer. Would have again. jonwayne4883 (401), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Apr 11, 2007 surprisingly good brown from brooklyn. came recommended by rishi at international beverage. he knows what we like. pretty solid all the way through, good flavor, slightly bitter finish, but its ok. Moz (613), Gothenburg, Sweden Apr 5, 2007 Bottle. Dark ruby colour with a small tan head. Hoppy nose, piney & resiny. Hoppy flavour with a little sweetness. Grassy with a light roasted touch. ekstedt (2411), Göteborg, Sweden Apr 4, 2007 Bottle, 355 ml. Deep clear reddish brown color, medium standard beige head. Roasted malts dominate the aroma, along with american hops and toffeish notes. Medium bodied, with a little too much carbonation. Initially some sweet flavour but the finish is bitter and dry. Not the best Brooklyn beer I’ve had. gnoff (3560), Göteborg, Sweden Apr 4, 2007 (355 ml bottle from Systembolaget) Clear dark red color, small fast dissipating head. Hoppy and sweet scent. Chocolate, smoke and acidic taste. Spritzy high co2 mouthfeel. Medium bitterness.
