12 oz bottle from a brooklyn variety case.Pours a dark brown with some slight fizz. smells toasty, slightly chocolatey. Not too sweet though, has a nice hop balance which is good.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Madtown1 (13) - Wisconsin, USA - SEP 14, 2011
Deep brown color in glass, reddish glow when held up to a light. Tan, frothy head laces the glass nicely. Aroma is roasty malt with a hint of coffee. Taste is a bit bitter at first, followed by dry, watered down malty finish. I don’t really taste any noticeable hop notes. Mouthfeel is smooth... this beer appears and pours like it might have a bit of viscosity to it, but doesn’t deliver. It’s ok.

A little less than I’d hoped but that often happens with me and brown ales. Looks as it should, rich dark brown with a bit of a reddish hint to it. Aromas are chocolate, caramel, and a big hit of nuts. Hop balance, bitter finish, a bit thin.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 mandalarules (69) - Akron, Ohio, USA - SEP 7, 2011
Aroma is chocolate, coffee, citrus, and roasty. Appearance is brown, with a frothy, white foam head..Taste is medium sweetness, lightly bitter, with a medium body, oily feel, creamy texture with average carbonation. The finish is slightly bitter. Overall this is an excellent brown ale from a great brewery out of New York state. The balance of hops is what really makes it special.

In bottle pours a dark red - brown colour with a thick light tan head. Aroma is malty with some peach hop notes. Flavours of biscuity malt, apple and milk chocolate. Foamy mouth-feel with some CO2 prickle. Not really my thing.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Beckerboy (12) - Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 6, 2011
I purchased a keg of this for my kegerator. I just love the flavor. I has been running a bit foamy even with my pressure really low, but the head is nice and the chocolate, and caramel notes are outstanding.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 bsp77 (724) - Minnesota, USA - SEP 5, 2011
UPDATED: SEP 20, 2011 Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Nonic Imperial Pint.
Appearance: Dark reddish-brown with thin off-white cap.
Aroma: Fairly dry, with caramel, nuts and a decent level of spice, citrus and pine from the hops.
Taste: Even more dry with a backbone of caramel and walnut, over which the spice, citrus and pine plays a fairly prominent role for a Brown Ale. Hoppy and dry, but not really bitter.
Palate: Moderate carbonation and, as I have already said many times, very dry. However, it is a trifle on the thin side.
Overall: Nice, everyday Brown Ale with a little more hops than I expected. My only gripe is the slightly thin mouthfeel. After having four of their beers, Brooklyn clearly knows how to elevate traditional beers and make them better.

Pours amber brown colour with a thin tan head. Fresh subtle aroma of caramel and malt with some hopy hints. Medium sweetness, lightly sour, roasted malt and plums notes on the taste. Light body, oily feel, average carbonation, and a short light bitter and dry finish. Ok.
