Nothing like our sweet English brown ales; much more fruity with a strong hoppiness and bitterness. I really enjoyed this beer, as I have all the Brooklyn beers I have so far tasted. Taste is slightly sweet, sort of blah... Can taste the hops in the background though. Slight lacing. jodah52 (47), Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 9, 2009 Rich color and aroma of nuts, malt. Slightly heavy, good malt and nut flavors. Simple, but easy to drink and good-tasting. A good example of the style. Cirrhosis (616), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 8, 2009 Beer pours a dark brown with a tall two-inch cap that sounds like rice crispies and huge bubble creators are being formed on the top of this giant cap, the cap lasted about half the brew. Aroma is nice and hoppy combined with fresh baked cookies and some vanilla. Aroma is ok fairly complex but a little sweet for my liking. Flavor is over all sweet to sweet in fact there is a nice hop presence combined with sweet rich malts and touch of coffee and some chocolate in the finish. Nice bold flavor but still some how is easy drinking and crisp. Taste is nice and complex and has a clean finish tons of flavor and you can still slam it. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 2, 2009 Pours dark brown with copper edges with a creamy beige head. Aroma is caramel or molasses, Choc. and nut. Smooth and creamy, this beer is very well balanced with the hop and nuttiness of a brown ale and has a nice roast finish. Very good I think. kwik-lime (222), London, England

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 26, 2009 Aroma of vanilla. Balanced dark malt character with a delightfully sweet finish. If I had to complain at all, I’d say it reminds a little of flat Pepsi.
