Pleasant aroma but nothing too overpowering. The taste is kind of chalky and a bit bitter. Not a big fan of this one.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Darker than expected brown, almost black, body. Milk chocolate, ashes, brownies, bit of spice. Very well developed and refined aroma. Clean yeast, American appeal. Cookie like dry taste, light yet mouth filling, biscuity malts, medium bitter. Interesting traditional ale appeal. Bay leaves and woody. The palate might be lighter than most modern craft beers, especially dark ones, but it has such a unique character. Yeah, better than expected! (33cl bottle from Bootlegger)

Chest-nutty and a bit watery. Somewhat of a let-down. A nubile brown drinker would imbibe on these. I will not. These are a brown-Budweiser goto.

330ml bottle @ the Stubborn Goat pub. Nice appearance for a brown. Aroma was woody. Taste was very full for a brown. Body was full too. Very good example of what can be done with this style.

Har hört att detta ska vara en riktigt bra öl för sin sort. MEN....tyckte dessvärre det var alldeles för lätt och tunn i kroppen. Rostade toner i aromen.

Draft at Good Dog. Very dark brown amber pour. Slight tan foam up top. Similar in style to classic brown ales (see Newcastle) but fuller and dirtier flavors. Chocolate nibs. Walnut shells. Truffled prune pudding. Soured molasses figs. Bit of an odd mix of malty dark fruit flavors. Worth a try.

Poured from a bottle it is a cloudy golden Colorado with effervescence and a slight white head. The aroma is earthy and the taste is thin with an after taste of coffee.
