3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before March 2013. Pours crystal clear reddish brown color with a nice 1-2 finger dense khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, biscuit, toasted malt, roast, light coffee, toffee, herbal, and light dark fruits. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity. Taste of chocolate, caramel, biscuit, toasted malt, nuttiness, toffee, roast, light coffee, and light herbal spiciness. Slight herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, caramel, biscuit, toffee, toast, nuttiness, and light herbal on the finish for a bit. Very nice flavor balance, complexity, and robustness; zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel that is very nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with pretty much zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice brown ale! Nicely robust and full of balanced flavors; and very smooth to drink. Really enjoyed this one.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz, no BB. "Strong beer/bière forte" at 5,6%... luminous mahogany pour, rich white-beigish head. Fresh and radiant aroma of caramel and home-made molasses, "red" malts, autumn leaves, red berry, stome fruit: a clear hoppy imprint. Mouthfeel is less creamy than adverstised and thinner/slicker than many UK brown ales, transporting a very well-designed fresh fruity hop aroma and a sort of skimmed Vienna maltiness with reduced dessert flavours. Dryish, just short of metallic aftertaste.

Bought at a local supermarket in Panama. $2.59. Drank from Bottle. 12 fl oz. Good aroma, kind of coffee. Initial taste reinforces coffee and chocolate. Aftertaste a nice bitter one. Very surprised! One of the faves

"Not seeing the 87/94 percentile scores. Maybe it was a lil too cold. Came across as a decent brown. Caramel and light roasted coffee with hints of chocolate. Average body, with a pleasant aftertaste."

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet. Small tan head. Clear reddish brown body. Aroma is roasted malt, toffee, wood and dark fruits. Feels a little sharp and salty on the tongue at first, with a sweet aftertaste. Dry on the palate.
