Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

A very nice brown! Pours brown w/ a tan head & moderate lacing. The aroma is enticing as it’s full of chocolate & dark malts. The taste is slightly roasty & chocolate. It’s a touch thin but this makes it quite easy to drink especially if u need more than 1. Funny that it was once awarded as a "strong beer" cause it is delightful on a fall day to throw back a few!

35,5cl bottle@Oslo Airport in wide tulip glass@approx 5 degrees C (too cold) Pour a beautiful clear, dark red brown with a finger of tan head which quickly disappears. Aroma of sweet roasted malts a little caramel and dough with hints of dark fruit. Taste dominated by roasted sweetness and pretty one dimensional. No off tastes but a sourness in the aftertaste that I don’t find pleasant.Low to average carbonation and medium to light body. Brown Ale is not my favourite and this is not my favourite among them, but at least it is well made without the metallic twang that so often ruins a Brown Ale for me.
