Pours brown with low off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, hints of brown sugar, pine hops and red fruit. Taste is lightly roasty sweet with a gentle bitterness in the finish. Light body, medium carbonation.

Bottle, Clarion Gillet Uppsala. Interesting features, complex aroma. Somewat thin texture, but on the whole pleasant.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Quite complex, a Brown Ale for the ages! Good luck finding a better looking example of the style, this Brooklyn beast is the acme of brownishness with a pulchritudinous light brown head. The smell and the flavour are interwoven inimitably, roast malts, sweet brown sugar, molasses, cigars and nuts. Some bright tart cherry and fruitcake sweetness make the rounds as well. A wonderfully substantial but easy to drink body and mid carbonation round out this beauty’s glory.

Não é o estilo que mais gosto, pois não sou fã quando tem sabor de algo torrado. Muito cheirosa. O sabor tem notas de café torrado. Paguei R$ 9,49 no pão de açúcar. Vale tomar uma vez ou outra, não sempre.

Sampled at Northgate Tasting. This is a bit sweet and malty, but it’s good for the style.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
0.33l bottle poured in a chalice
A: Nice clean and dark brown color with a creamy beige head (1 to 2 fingers) dissipates quickly leaving not much lacings but a very nice floral smell of hops
S: Toasted malts, roasted nuts, sweet caramel and a lovely floral of hops in the end (which I personally think is very characteristic on Brooklyns)
T/M: Again, roasted malts and nuts, sweet caramel which makes it a bit molasses. Very good presence of grassy hops which gives it a moderate bitter end. Medium body and carbonation
D: High. Refreshing beer. Good quality beer as expected from a Brooklyn

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle purchased as a single at the Whole Foods in Coral Springs, Florida. The pour is a light haze brown golden with a smallish light tan head. The aroma is fresh nut, faint roast and a floral character. The taste is a nice blend of the nut, roast and floral. The palate is medium bodied with soft carbonation and a clean mineral finish. Nice.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from the local ABC. Nose is full or many things: roasted nuts, toast, toasted grains, some light chocolate, and caramel. Cool! Flavor is more caramel and light roast. Good stuff.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: OCT 5, 2014 12oz, no BB. "Strong beer/bière forte" at 5,6%... luminous mahogany pour, rich white-beigish head. Fresh and radiant aroma of caramel and home-made molasses, "red" malts, autumn leaves, red berry, stone fruit: a clear hoppy imprint. Mouthfeel is less creamy than advertised and thinner+slicker than many UK brown ales, transporting a very well-designed fresh fruity hop aroma and a sort of skimmed Vienna maltiness with reduced dessert flavours. Dryish, just short of metallic aftertaste. maybe a bit bland.
