Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

Strong malt aroma and taste with chocolate notes. Full bodied but smooth. Would drink again. Brooklyn Brewery seems to get all classes right.

Pours up a dark brown mahogany color with a tan head. Aroma of caramel, hops, malt and light chocolate. Taste is on the hoppy side for a brown, but still has some malt to balance it out. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium body with average carbonation. Overall a decent Brown Ale, not the best, but still good.

Ruby pour with tan head that soon falls. Dark fruit/toast/cocoa aromas along with roasted nuts. Not much for hop aroma-maybe a hint of grass/citrus. Taste is mildly burnt sugar along with toasted malt. Slightly slick mouthfeel and enduring light bitterness in the finish. Quite nice.

Ordered this at Pinchos in Norrköping, the only beer available that seemed okay. It was fine, similar to Newcastle, nothing special.

Pours a brown reddish colour, with a medium off white head that leaves a good lace when fades. Aroma of chocolate, some coffee, dried fruits. Medium to light body, standard carbonation, palate is rich and very creamy. Taste of chocolate, dried fruits, notes of coffee. OK.

355ml bottle into shaker. Pours a deep copper with a solid cream-coloured head. Laces well. Malty nose, touches of toffee and fruit. A bit of a sour zing, a little hop bitterness, a hint of smoky malt. A bit ephemeral but certainly easy drinking.

Brooklyn Brown Ale has a nice crisp aroma upon opening. It has a great color and a very fresh Taste. I would call this a hearty beer. It had a hint of caramel and a slightly bitter finish. I would rate the head as overall average. I'm not a huge brown ale fan, but I did like this one. It's a solid brown ale ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours clear darkish brown with offwhite head. Aroma is malty with some caramel and roasted malt yet hoppy with some grassy notes. Taste is primarily malty with caramel and light roasted malt and a hint of chocolate. Taste has some hoppiness with grass, hay and straw. Finish is quite bitter and dry.
