Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

Coffee is the thing that hits first in aroma and taste. Got plum, prune, rich red watermelon. Nice hops. Smooth with touch of bitterness on back end. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I poured it from the bottle into a pint glass. It pours a light brown color with a nice beige head and decent lacing. The aroma is nutty, caramel, and hops. The taste is nutty, toffee sweetness, some roastiness, and some hoppy bitterness. The carbonation is above average. This is balanced well and different than most beers of the style.

Really nice ale. Mild aroma and a nice dark appearance. The taste is mild hoppy with a fruity aftertaste.

Pours a brown from a bottle, Sort of a bittersweet chocolate soda. Vegetal flavor that appears to be a Brooklyn specialty. Okay beer.

Aroma of malt, dark bread and some nuts. Taste is sweet caramel, light roasted nuts. Very light body, and a little too sweet.
