COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

On tap; nice malty nutty smell. Sweet malt, nutty, even cola flavors. A very nice standard English brown.

A great brown ale. Sweet and warm and a great winter beer when crammed into Chicago bars.

I once lived within walking distance of the Brooklyn Brewery and for some reason this was the one that I drank the least. I drink it a little more often now, even though lots of local stores suddenly increased the price by $3. I can imagine having a bottle of it with a slice of pecan pie, as the chocolate hints would go well with the pecans.

Two tries with this brew. Once on tap and once in bottle. Dark brown color, light to medium body. Little to no head. Smooth roasted malt taste with a hint of chocolate and hops. Aftertaste was memorable.

Had on draft. Lots of toasted malt flavor. Very nice English style brown with more hops added. Nice winter beer.

pours a brownish/maroonish color with a head that becomes nonexistent in a few seconds. smells of chocolate, almonds, and a little spice. tastes pretty much the same. this is a consistent beer. i highly recommend.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2008 Thick head with nice lacing on the glass. Sort of chocolate malty taste, with a crisp finish and a slightly creamy aftertaste. This is a very drinkable dark ale. Would be a great introductory dark beer for someone that isn’t sure they’re ready for something heavier.

Nice smooth ale. Has a sweet, nutty aroma and taste to match. It also has that great malty flavor taht I like. I am a big fan of this beer and its sister brews.

Quoted "rich mahogany look" before looking at the beer’s description. Smell of nuts, chocolate, some coffee. Reminds me of a flag football game on Thanksgiving Weekend.

On Tap. Dark brown in color, but not the typical brown ale flavor. Instead, an excellent full-palate, smooth drinking beer. Tastes are very well balanced.
