Sweet cinnamon bread and molasses aromas. Medium bodied and lively. Initially sweet with a cola sugary pruney flavor. Smooth and sticky. Caramel and syrup with a slight bready flavor. Finish holds a touch of citrus fruity tart hops to play against the smooth malts. Nice dichotomy. The palate is melded and layered. Nicely integrated. tarjei (1762), Bryne, Norway

Pours a solid mahogany colour with a strong aroma of typically American hops and malts. It’s got a huge malty taste and a full-bodied, perhaps even overly hefty, palate. It delivered exactly what I’ve come to expect from an American brown ale. I just can’t make my mind up as to whether I like the style or not! joet (1709), Fulton, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 30, 2002 God, I’m sorry to mention Boyne River here but it’s become a standard for me. This Brooklyn Brown is as close as I’ve come to a good honest brown outside of the Boyne River. Aroma of cocoa, flavors of nuts, pine or juniper and wood, creamy body, a mite spritzy and acidic. I’ll let this warm from 50 to 55 and keep going... At 55F it’s more tannic and starchy. This is a very good brew. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA

Flavour starts semi-sweet wiht nice roasted malts before turning somewhat bitter from the hops. Smooth and full but I prefer lighter hops and more malt body in my brown ales.
